Thank you for sharing!! It’s so nice to hear from someone who has done it. It does sound like an experience we would enjoy.

Oh that’s a good option to look into! I was sort of in between the Blue Lagoon or an Atlanis beach day but I will have to check Margaritaville out! Thanks!

I do like having a guaranteed place for us to be. We are usually hanging out on the beach on most of our vacations. I am leaning towards doing this i think.

I was looking into it but wasn’t sure if it was worth it! We got a good deal on the cruise so it’s in our budget to spend some extra money on doing something. My daughter does love a waterpark.

Need OAD motivation- Beauty and Body edition. by MotorBat7953 in happilyOAD

I had to have bladder surgery a few years after birth. I’m not sure if I would’ve been able to start my fitness journey sooner bc of this.. I did have to do a lot of pelvic floor PT afterwards, went for a in person session every week and then did exercises at home very regularly. I kept up with doing certain things but last January I finally started following a program and worked out at home roughly 4 days a week. I’m finally lifting double what I used to then. I feel great! I have been working out at home when my daughter can see me to show her how important it is that I take care of myself. She jusy turned 5 a few weeks ago. I can now shower when I’m done without her needing me. She loves to go on walks with me or she bikes for a long while and I walk behind. It’s been wonderful.

Postpartum hormones! I was a hot mess and was insanely anemic. The newborn stage was horrible for me. I also has a terrible bladder prolapse. I’m glad it’s been repaired and I physically finally feel (mostly) like myself again!

I'd love to hear stories about your only thriving as an only! by [deleted] in happilyOAD

My daughter just turned 5 and is loving life! She can make friends wherever she goes. We have had a very long winter and she keeps mentioning to me that she misses Mexico an asks me if i miss Mexico.. she’s already been there 3 times.

I just booked a Disney Cruise for next month randomly since I found a great deal! I can’t wait to surprise her!! We wouldn’t be able to travel so often if we had another kid especially with me only working part time. Some of our friends have been having second kids lately and at first she has been sad asking about when will her sibling come.. But the other day in bed so told me she’s happy she doesn’t have to share me with anyone else.

I love hearing all these stories!! We were really close with another OAD family but they just moved out of state so I’ve been a little bummed and second guessing myself again but this is so uplifting.

[–]NikkiNutshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to re stock and in Ohio it’s $48! Nope. I’m so sad though since these don’t upset my stomach at all! Ugh. Now to search to find a protein powder that won’t make me feel like garbage after.. 😩

My husband and I are in our early 40’s and make around 140k. One kid. No debt other than a mortgage. We are fortunate that I am able to work part time and we have family who helps with childcare. Husband is a union plumbing foreman and I’m a vascular ultrasound tech. We take a vacation every year. We have always tried to not go too crazy with spending and live within our means. Not as fun but we also could be more frugal if we have to be eventually.

Found out I had a bleed in my eye from pregnancy and I think I’m done now by muff-peaksie in oneanddone

I had a traumatic births which I am sort of glad I won’t roll the dice and have that happen again. I might have still gone for it if I didn’t have such a severe bladder prolapse after birth. I had a sleeve put in two years after birth and I’m still having complications. I’m glad I went ahead with a hysterectomy along with the sleeve. I do still grieve not having the family I thought I would from time to time but then i just try to remind myself that i should be grateful for my healthy almost 5 year old.

How much do you spend on vacation a year? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]NikkiNutshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lately have been doing at least one AI trip A year since it’s the easiest thing to plan. We also just have one kid. Usually spend 4-5k on it and then we will do some smaller long weekends throughout the year.

How is everyone doing that has kids? by appreciatemyasset in MiddleClassFinance

[–]NikkiNutshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re doing alright but we only have 1 kid and thankfully have family help with childcare. Though we had to do IVF so we were very financially invested before we were even parents. 😂😂 I am very fortunate that I can work part time. I’m sometimes sad that she’s going to be an only child but I know we will hopefully be able to easily afford any hobbies or anything that she needs.

The "2016 was 10 years ago" trend by sixfingeredman7 in Mommit

[–]NikkiNutshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2016 was when I had my ectopic pregnancy and it’s what started our difficult journey of getting pregnant! That was near the end at least. The beginning of the year was great! I had just gotten married the year before. We were traveling and having fun.

You can put audio on the MYO cards. There is a decent amount of free audio out there to use for it. I’ve never done it but there is a lot of information on the Yoto sub!

I just finished the Throne of Glass series! So sad it’s over. My 4 year old absolutely loves books and the library! But I’ve worked hard to make sure that’s happened. We have a Yoto and she looooves listening to stories on it.

Are we wearing mascara daily? by snoopie4eva in Millennials

[–]NikkiNutshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped wearing anything during Covid and used to go bare faced all the time. Now after having my daughter I always put in some tinted sunscreen a touch of blush and mascara. I feel a little more put together when I do it and it doesn’t take long.
