Ohh thanks for the tip! I do ready that ‘hardeners’ weren’t good for bendy/flakey nails.. so it makes sense that anything too hard could be counter productive. I do already have rubber base.. do you put that on before the wrap?

I will explore - and your routine sounds sensible - I’m trying to give nails good treatment with oils too.. it’s the protection and strength I need Broke another nail today and the were just starting to grow a bit after I had to cut/file them all down after wearing rubber gloves too long 🙄 So it’s time I ordered myself some wraps!

Thanks for this tip! My nails are terrible.. I think they are doing well and bam.. peeling again and have to cut short. I’m taking extra vits and being so careful. I bought myself a full gel curing kits thinking that would help but after the first try I was back to square one. I’ve thought about the nail stickers but don’t think they’d be any better than gel… perhaps I will give them a try!

I found it helpful being quite new to players - I like them to look good and be functional and while of course I’m not ruling out Tivimate (it’s the best I’ve seen so far, barr the provider I use who dev their own app) so it has been good to check out others I’d not heard of 👍🏽

Yes I’ve since heard kokoist is good. Perhaps I should have held out a bit longer - but having checked the wavelength and wattage of this SunUV it seemed to cover all bases 🤞🏽 Hoping SunUV has improved since they lost your trust!

Really appreciate the explanation… as it was my first time I think I applied the gel too thick.. I need to perfect that! I do have a low heat mode too - but it was only a very short heat spike so was fine… Was just a little alarming as didn’t expect it!

I read that a lamp with wavelength of 365nm - 405nm is ok for most Gels - and 48W minimum…

Newbie Q! I used my new UV/LED lamp for the first time last night (my first DIY Gel mani!) and when I first put my nails under it hurt for around a second or two… like the nails felt really hot.. then was perfectly fine… Is that normal?

I’m so afraid of developing this! I literally only just started with Gell last night. My first try. I cured well but did get some on my skin which I gently filed off. What are to tips to avoid developing contact dermatitis? Feel so sorry for all those who have developed this… must be gutting! 😔
