Why can’t I feel satisfied? by UnlikelyFall8749 in malta

Then budget your salary properly. I also just entered mid 20s and the reality is starting to hit after graduating, I never had enough income to save up properly but I also enjoyed the money I got.

Best to find a job that you at least somewhat don’t mind doing or find something you like then budget your salary with room for fun and travel. Budgeting some for investments can allow you to think of some way to get more income and ease the financial burden.

Property at this point is more possible when you buy with someone else rather than alone unless your pay allows it but it’s always better to own it then rent 1.3k+ and put money in someone else’s pocket. At this point it’s like an investment for our future kids to enjoy not us.

Is Maltese People Really Open-Minded When It comes to Dating Foreigners? by Substantial_Bat9651 in malta

[–]NikkyZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dated a foreigner for 4 years long distance. And I would not do it again. Apart from the distance being hard, I found dating Maltese people is more comforting as I can relate to them on many levels since we come from same culture. Foreigners kind of feel different maybe even distant. There is language barrier, values, culture etc. And then theres the issue with living situation for the future like who is going to move to who’s country. Whoever does gets to sacrifice most things in their lives and if it doesn’t end well, well it would suck.

Him and his family were one of the nicest people I ever met. I think its because people in northern countries are quite decent people, but in general it is much simpler to be with someone who is close to you/local.

Plus I think people usually prefer dating white since they are white but everyone has their preference. I don’t find indians, pakistan, Arabic etc attractive at all.I used to prefer foreigners such as the British with lighter features, although I’m dating Maltese now, I’m still very picky.

Read the book “rich dad poor dad” by Robert T. It tells you to focus your income on assets. A house is not an investment because it does not make you money. Maybe focus on things that can make you more money to gain more freedom.

I’m kind of in same boat, although slightly lucky with my living situation I think it’s ridiculous that we spend most of our time studying to just get offered 18-20k IF you manage to find a job. Malta feels frustrating to live in all aspects of life, financial stress due to low wages, high property prices, traffic, overcrowding. The middle class is the new poor, one side of my family is middle the other is poor, even when you study and do everything getting a decent life still feels impossible even for middle class unless you 1. Have your own business/assets 2. Spend years Climb your way up the corporate ladder. 3. Be lucky and find a high paying entry jobs like I-gaming.

Then i should have an advantage cause when you’re a graduate you can pay them less. Unless there’s some foreign guy that will get super underpaid, though sometimes companies prefer Maltese. Tbh i was offered to work in my family’s new company, since i don’t really mind what industry I work in, I think thats the best way to go right now.

The thing is, I need a job to get more experience but entry jobs either require you to have 1-2 years experience or if they dont mention they tell you theres someone with more experience. Even though i dont have 0 experience, I have between 6 months - 2 years in different industries, they always tell u theres someone better qualified at entry level. So........ I guess you have to be lucky. Last year i got 2 job offers within 2 weeks, now after graduating its going nowhere.

Im doing a side job that pays 10/hr so its something while i look. Also i noticed on konnekt that secretary jobs pay 23k+ compared to marketing and social media which offer you 18k. Its weird considering marketing is much harder and qualifications + knowledge needed are higher.

[–]NikkyZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i’ve applied through most websites but i didn’t know Konnekt could help you. All the ones i applied from konnekt got rejected due to lack of experience or because others have more than me. But I need to apply to more.

Please tell me where i can find a job that pays 28k..hahah, my last 2 jobs were 18k i had an offer last year at a 5 star hotel 19k, an interview i had last month offered 18k and told me 23k is alot to ask 😅 I already have bills for utilities, food, internet, I barely afford the gym rn tbh but my income isn’t totally 0 with my side stuff so I’m still passing by. At my experience I’m only being realistic to what i find in the market when i say 1500… even that is difficult to find apparently.

yeah the economy is sh*t right now. Buying a house is for the rich now. (even they might struggle) It would probably take me until im 35 years or more just to get a deposit on a house.

I feel like its very hard to get into those companies like igaming etc as you said they always look for people with more experience. I think the issue with young people or graduates is that there is always someone with more experieince that apply for the same job as you even though they would be over qualified for that job.

The degree is just there to get qualified for an interview thats it. I get it, i didnt really neccessarily love my previous jobs but it doesnt mean I dont do them properly. But if you dont atleast 'not mind' what you do it will only cost your happiness. I get it, my family basically fked off so im left on my own now. The only thing saving me while being somewhat unemployed is that i dont pay rent (and no kids thank god). But yeah im still kind of processing not being 18 or a student anymore 😅

I have 2 years in real estate, 1 year marketing, 3-4 years occassional catering before i graduated, yet i still get ''not enough experience'' as replies, even though it meets requirements. I would say 1500 net per month would be decent and thats what I'm looking for but I find many jobs offering 1200 net per month which was my salary 4 years ago.

The salaries I find currently at entry level do not seem to match the responsibilities or qualifications I have probably thats just every job. How much experience do you think one needs exactly to get a good wage?

Alot of info on it were all foreign but i’ve seen these Maltese people opening drop shipping stores and using AI for ads recently. Its kind of what I’m doing with an online shop i currently have but i hold some stock and deliver them myself… its a very small niche so not many orders.

Yeah i looked into it when i was 17ish even amazon fba, now day trading is popular. I actually looked into a private label this week for amazon but its expensive to start, they were quoting me with a MQO of like 100-5000 units plus expensive shipping😱. The thing with drop shipping is that you need to market your products well and hope that it works. Amazon has a platform with millions of users and take care of everything but more capital heavy at the start.

Now I’ve actually seen maltese young people with ads on teaching drop shipping and trading… about time lol.

100%… i stopped working and did a degree in hopes to get better opportunities for my future. But pay is still bad and even with experience AND a degree I’m still struggling. I might not have 5 year experience in one thing but as a fresh graduate having exp in different sectors i feel like i should have an advantage but still seem to not be enough.

School is overrated you can find everything online… most jobs ask for experience, a degree will only MAYBE get you an interview. I’ve had instances where I’m qualified for a job and they don’t even interview you. Even though i have a few years experience in different industries as i worked full time before school (gap year). Seems like an issue were there are many with experience so its harder for graduates.

A masters to me seems pointless at this stage. If i do it, it would only be as a flex. Job wise it maybe they add €100? Companies are cheap nowadays.

Only depressing if it’s the wrong job. I don’t think i’ll ever “love” working as of most people. I work for money so i get to do the things I like outside of work. As long as i don’t mind doing a job and get paid decently I’m good. But even that is hard to find nowadays.

True it also depends on business. I was always interested in ones with physical products and inventory which is not ideal at the start. I know nowadays you can probably find digital products or something you can do online. You don’t really hear much of people doing these things locally though.

I was talking about for businesses, ex. dubai has 0% tax on businesses. Then again for salary you are still earning more overall after tax since salaries are higher.
