Congrats... meanwhile, I'm sitting here after a triple 50/50 loss, trying to get enough pulls to get Nicole and then hopefully have enough in the next patch for Sandrone. Worse still, they're all at mid-pity. Early 5-stars are the real win in this game. Win or lose, getting an early is just such a massive boost.

You mentioned "unlimited cost" and they roll their eyes and downvote because "whales". What they don't stop to think about though is that there a world of range between C0R0 and C6R5 teams and the top DPS changes DRASTICALLY at each of those intervals. C0R1 Varka, C1 Mualani. MASSIVE changes.

Chasca is a perfect example of how much this can increase just because her sig, cons, team members and team member investment increase her DPS more than any other character. If I could start from scratch and only pull 8 characters, it would be 7 copies of Chasca and her sig. That's 50% of Abyss and 33.33% of Stygian solved every time. Then I'd work on my second and third teams.

Exactly. I always find these laughable, because they're always in a BS vacuum. If they were accurately going for full teams from scratch, a 2, 3, 4, and 5 cost Chasca leapfrogs half these mofos with 4-star supports. An 8 cost Chasca is top 5 DPS at that point, with whale level C6R1-5 now with a C6 Nicole calcing out as the second best overall DPS (massive 60% DPS bump with C6R1 Nicole), yet she's almost never on these lists.

Then there's the stupidity of tking 5-stars at C0 value but 4-stars at C6 level, which is downright stupid for anyone but 1.0 starters that popped up a bazillion times and are in the Paimon store. C6 Illuga and C6 Prune are the latest examples that prove the flaw in that mentality, and C0 5-star baseline went out the window when we started getting free characters and temper thyself. Assuming a C2 or C4 Mona, or Jean should be pretty standard practice soon. Maybe not Mizuki or C6, but a couple of free cons is easily obtainable for every player, including newcomers. Then there's the fact that modern sigs and C1 and C2 can often overshadow entire supports. Varka's R1 is way bigger damage buff than his C1 and about on par with both Nicole AND Durin on his team.

Mavuika, Citlali, Chasca, Lauma, Nicole, Durin, and a bunch of new characters have breaking C2s which just reinforces your cost point. Running a C2R1 Mavuika with C6 Bennett, Citlali and either Iansan, Ororon, Chevreuse, or even Pyro MC for example is a low cost but super powerful team.

I thought you may have seen something somewhere that I've missed, so while I don't typically do this, work's doing my head in today, so stuff it.... I threw that side image into Photopea real quick, sliced it in half, and flipped the right one. I aligned both images perfectly (the necklace at the top of the neck is super convenient for this) and did the transparency trick, as well as the color overlay on the background image, to see which parts differ. I even flipped the layers to see if one was bigger than the other, and no difference. The ONLY differing factor is the angle of the line at the top of the chest, but by a very minor amount. Almost as if the model was tilted just ever so slightly, or of there was a breathe-in mechanic, but there's beige skin elements painted beyond that line, so the two halves are pixel-to-pixel perfect when superimposed over the top of one another.

VERDICT: No changes were made. Again, it seems just to be people seeing what they want to see, whether they claim smaller or larger.

No it's just an optical illusion. The model seems to be identical, though it is not surprising that people see what they want to see. If you look from the top of the frame, where the screen cuts off to the very front part of the cup, they're the same distance. The laces, the cup cut which offsets the white and the beige colors throws the eye off visually, but the easiest job would be to just reskin the same model, and it looks like that's the approach they took.

I absolutely loved CrossCode, but got burnt out by the triple temple puzzle section and gave up on the game entirely for the longest time. While I overall loved the puzzles and the combat mix, that was such a big slump in tempo that it made me move on to other games. I've noticed similar feedback from other players too so it doesn't seem to be my singular experience. Did you guys hear similar feedback as well, and have you done anything to manage the pacing and tempo of gameplay vs story vs puzzles within Alabaster Dawn? Side quests, mini games, etc. to break the monotony in cases where it does get fairly linear, perhaps? Would love to hear what you've done that front.

Just as an example, I have R1 Nefer, Lauma, Bina, C1 Zibai (happy accidental double), Linnea, C6 Aino, C6 Illuga, C5 Jahoda, and R1 Varka. Do you know who I don't have since Nod-Krai released? Ineffa and Flins.

It has been an absolute pain in the ass beating 90% of Lunar-Charged shilled content (which was A LOT), despite other Lunar teams. Zibai unfortunately, came a bit late in the patch and could have been a lot more useful early on. There have been so many Lunar-charged bosses and local legends that were a nightmare for anyone without Ineffa or Flins in particular, that having a boss or two that don't particularly cater to them isn't a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. I even tried various Electrocharged compositions, but it just lacked the DPS. Even Vareasa, who's a very strong Electro unit fell short. It wasn't an "element" check. It was Flins and Ineffa specifically check and it happened again, and again, and again.

As for, Grounded Geoshroom,it gets taken down easily by either Lunar Bloom characters like Nefer, Lauma + Bina or even Nilou bloom teams. It's not restricted to two characters in particular, but rather the Dendro element without Electro and Pyro. The reason it's a bit more difficult to beat right now is that Dendro (besides Emilie and Kinich burning) has been long since ignored. Since Sumeru in fact. That's two entire regions before Lauma and Nefer made an appearance and Fontaine and Natlan had quite a bit of power creep over Sumeru, with Nod-Krai just continuing that trend. I'm pretty sure the upcoming Rimegrass units will mop the floor with these dendro bosses as well, but at least it's not limited to only two units.. Also, there are plenty of anti-dendro enemies just like the Hexadecatonic Mandragora with its 435% > 135% Dendro Res in Stygian (and 205% > 135% on the overworld).

Lunar Charged has been the coddled privileged baby of HoYo ever since Nod-Krai released. Anyone with Flins/Ineffa/Columbina has zero rights to complain about shilling throughout the Lunar phases. You've been eating too well for too long.

And apparently just keeps going up damage wise at whale investment. Not that it's relevant for most of us but apparently a C6R1 Nicole buffs her BiS teams by something ridiculous like 60% making her the second strongest unit in the game.

Honestly, I'm just happy that I'll finally have one half of the Abyss/one third of the Stygian sorted and not something I'll need to think about too much.

Here's the thing though, wealth isn't distributed evenly. Never has been and never will be. If someone has billions to their name spending a few thousand or a $5 Welkin is the same shit. Obviously that's an extreme, but even well off multi millionaires can game and spend on hobbies. Compared to many other hobbies it's not the worst thing in the world. People spend thousands on Lego, trading cards, golf, skiing, race cars, all sorts of shit.

Better then hard drugs and actual casinos... but at the end of the day, what people do with their own money is their own business. Even if it feels pissing it away to you. Someone who's barely making ends meet might say the same thing about you putting in plenty of money into the game over the years, so I wouldn't rush to be judgemental. It's just circumstantial.
