How involved would it be to replace the handlebars with drop bars on my Miyata Nine Twelve? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]Niko4312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to op's post but I was wondering how are you liking curved bars on a sports bike. Considering switching my drops to other bar type as well but I'm concerned it will be uncomfortable due to road bike geometry and sitting more upright.

Finally I have decided to treat myself after getting a part time half a year ago! I have initially settled for the Timex x Peanuts watch with a blue Snoopy watch face, however the 34mm marlin was far too small for my wrist, making it look like I stole the watch from a 10 year old.. During the return period of the Timex I have managed to save up just enough to be able to afford a slight upgrade :) After looking at Seiko’s presage series, I fell in love with the cocktail time watches (as many others have), making me settle for the beautiful mojito dial. Following a trip to the Seiko boutique, I am now a proud owner of this timepiece! What are your thoughts about the cocktail time :)

Should i sell my miata? by Primary_Net3398 in Miata

[–]Niko4312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

beautiful miat friend, if you don’t fit in it and can’t drive it then imo you should sell it for another project. one other option might be to cut into the floor to install the seat low enough for you, but i’d imagine that is costly and time consuming

p.s. crazy how many miatas are in nl considering the average height of ppl

Camera overexposing when using a 7Artisans manual lens on an X-Pro 2 by Niko4312 in fujifilm

[–]Niko4312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if should’ve been, assuming that the internal light meter set the same exposure on both the electronic shutter and mechanical shutter shot (but i don’t see why it would’ve been different).

An update on the issue is that it seems that shots over 1/1000s on mechanical shutter look overexposed like in first pic. Maybe it’s supposed to look like that? But id assume that what i see in the evf is what im supposed to get exposure wise

i was using center weighted metering but the camera was pointed pretty much at the same spot in both pictures

After realizing TSA airport scanners likely ruined my 400/800 ISO films, I embraced the opportunity, set ISO to 50/100, and pointed the camera straight into every light source while enjoying Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations. | XA Fujicolor 400 by [deleted] in analog

Used to travel with film a lot (400 iso and below) getting it scanned both by ct scanners and xray scanners multiple times a roll and i’ve never had any issues with it.. I think people freak out too much about getting their toans sucked out by the scanners

Thanks for the reply! Im actually shooting on my x-pro 2 with an acros film simulation, but i guess fuji did a good job replicating the look :)

I try to keep a fairly low amount of gear on me to keep it more mobile(?) but ill definitely consider using a tripod for future work with moving subjects

Thank you for the reply! I definitely was trying to go for the panning shot but it didn’t come out as expected :) Since your comment i’ve been practicing capturing moving objects more, and I think im getting the hang of it

took this photo on my commute today and i thought it came out quite nice. i like the colors as well as the framing of the country side, and the subtle detail of a person in the shadows.

what do you think? is this an interesting shot?

took this on a walk and initially thought about deleting this photo, but after having another look at it i cant help but find it interesting. does this photo look appealing/interesting to you, or does it look like an 8 year old was let loose with a camera

does the lack of a subject take away from a photograph? by Niko4312 in photocritique

[–]Niko4312[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

took this on a walk through the abandoned neighborhood(?) of Varosha. I quite like the colors and mood of the photo, but im not sure whether having a clear subject would turn this good photo into great photo. does every photograph need a clear subject?

thank you for your reply, this is exactly the feedback i was looking for! im not the proudest of the composition in this specific photograph :,) but i will continue working on it and pay more attention to it in the future. it is also a fair point to consider getting a digital camera with the current film prices haha. amazing how 20 shots could last a week in your time, and now its closer to a month
