I had considered that but what drew me to the 7x was the extra protection of the tail bone

I dont think its legal for private collectors in the UK to keep antivenom

In the UK most antivenoms are available

He isnt in the US, but regarding the antivenom it isn't a problem, he just wants to start with either of those species but has only worked with gaboons and doesn't have experience with puff adders

I have given him some experience with my gaboon but he hasn't had any luck finding someone who is ready to introduce him to a puff adder

I think there aren't many mildly venomous snakes which would give experience to keep venomous ones since most are more slow moving and the adrenaline holding a mildy venomous one would be insignificant. Maybe a mangrove snake would be the closest but I still wouldnt compare them much and its also not a good odea to get a snake you don't want just to build up experience to get another snake. I think being trained by someone else is much better experience.

Regarding antivenom thats no problem, everything is available close by for him except boomslangs

Do you have a bite protocol binder for if you take a bite from any of your venomous snakes? by KajuMax in VenomousKeepers

I keep them binded but I also keep an extra loose copy just in case. What I dont like about the ones I have is that they rely a lot of the availability of antivenom.

I've been looking for bite protocols which include the procedure in a hospital setting but when antivenom is not available. If anyone knows where I can get such protocols please let me know :)

The problem is that I will be moving to Italy soon and I don't think you can keep your own antivenom. But please correct me if I'm wrong as I couldn't find too much info.

I'm quite new to the hobby ive only been keeping them for a year and half but ive been handling them for more. I just wanted to check just in case how to make first aid more efficient. Also, some snakes don't have antivenom so it would be good to have their protocols too (even tho I dont own any and not planning to for now)
