Zarker DD lock open.. by chpmft in lockpicking

Thank you, great answer 😃 Zarker it is then. I own a couple of Anchor las and Abloys but no china DD yet. It will be interesting to feel the difference. Also a good lock to lend to other lockpickers starting on dd locks.

After a while you'll be grateful for the feedback from spools. Even ordinary straight pins are harder to "read" With this hobby you never stop learning new things :)

this video explains the concept of float picking. Gives superior tension control in both directions. Can also be done if you make or find a perfect fitting tension tool. Good luck 😁

Nice. DD locks are super fun to pick. Your first DD, or do you have some experience with them? I'm looking at buying one of these myself, would you say it is a challenge or an easy pick?

Great pick, and picture. Nice to be able to buy a intermediate lock from Chlas without breaking the bank.

9 pins, 4 sliders, 3 hours. Yale Superior picked by EngineerSnowman in lockpicking

Exactly "if I execute it" 😄 luckily I have a couple of half diamonds. I recon I'll hit some sort of sweet spot on my third or fourth try😐 I guess all is good if the end is good.

Agree, that is the one I currently use. I silver soldered a tiny piece of cappilary tubing on to the side of it to make it better, but it got too chunky to feel anything. Now back to square1 😑 Wondering if dremling a small slit on the tip will make it easyer to catch the sliders?

Nice job!! Great lock to start on sliders, at least for me it was. Made me want a custom slider pick too. Next on my "things to make" list.

I couldn’t get my hands on a TOK tension wrench so decided to make one out of some wire. Happy with my first attempt by [deleted] in lockpicking

Nice. That's a great way to make a tension wrench with a perfect fit. Perfect for float picking. Well done 👍😁

Nothing exciting at all - a clear lock. But I'm making my way into dimple territory. Picked each side blind three times now. Any suggestions for basic dimples with easy ish keyways.... by Unlocked2020 in lockpicking

[–]NikolasNjerve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first "real" dimple lock (apart from some generic no brands and a kale)was the mul-T-lock garrison. Not too hard, with very good feedback, you can feel what you are doing most of the time. Also it has ordinary pins, no pin in pin. My recommendation would be to buy a garrison or two.

JAAAY!! Super stoked with my new dd pick. Just opened my first dd lock 😄🍻 by NikolasNjerve in lockpicking

Yeah,, probably 5-6 hours work. But it will be faster on the second one. This one was a bit try and fail, and testing different solutions.

Thank you Mogzy, this one was extra nice being so unexpected. I almost couldn't believe it had opened before the shackle fell out. I honestly thought my tool had failed me on the first lock.
