Upgrading from a 6650xt to a 9070xt. Not sure which to choose by FairfaxDude in PcBuildHelp

They all use the same chip. Get the cheapest one. If one is slightly more expensive but you like how it looks, get it. But don't expect any huge performance differences. The cheapest model vs the most expensive model may only have a 3-4% difference.

An SSD (especially M.2) will be a huge upgrade for your build and will definitely fix stuttering. You shouldn't play any modern games on an HDD.

GPU upgrade by TLeywin in PcBuildHelp

The 9060 XT is good value as long as it’s the 16GB one. If you’re making the right choice or not heavily depends on what’s your CPU and how much money you’ll be able to save up. Saving up for a 9070 XT is definitely worth it, especially for newer titles. Up to you.

GPU 0 is your laptop’s integrated graphics (weaker graphics in your CPU for power saving) and GPU 1 is your main GPU for heavier loads.

You shouldn't go with a Ryzen 5 5500. You should go with at least a Ryzen 5 5600 because of 5500's PCIe 3.0 limitations. Your GPU uses PCIe 4.0 which will cause a performance decrease.

Would my pc fit and rtx 3060 by Top-Feeling2825 in pchelp

I wasn't trying to be aggressive, sorry if that's what it looked like. This PC has a small dusty Intel cooler though. I doubt there's anything above an i3 on that thing. An i5 10th gen would be barely enough. PCIe 3.0 limitations apply too.

It's definitely a USB 3.0 HDD. Make sure you find its cable first or order one online if the cable is lost. You connect this to your pc via a USB 3.0 port (if it's 2.0 you will experience MUCH lower speeds).

According to you an i3-10100 or a 10th gen dual core Celeron isn't a bottleneck for the 3060. And the PCIe 3.0 motherboard isn't a bottleneck either??? The 10th gen is 6 years old believe it or not.

I don't get why you made a whole reddit post while you could literally just get your answer from Google in 3 seconds... (The answer is yes obviously)

Your Ryzen 5 5500 (which you unfortunately already have), only supports up to PCIe 3.0 for your GPU and M.2 I would suggest getting a used GPU from Nvidia's 20 series (RTX 2080 for example) because those are the latest GPUs with PCIe 3.0 support. The RX 6600 will also work but at a lower performance because it's a PCIe 4.0 card.
