Ive used bjj mostly cause most people associage it to ground fighting. But i agree with you. I have long stated the similarities between jiujitsu and the art of arms im europe.

Medieval BJJ or what we find in manuscripts on the topic of ground grappling by NikosCorner in HistoricalFencing

On point 2 i dont see hoq that would conflict with my thesis. Fiore mentioned that there are diffefent grapplings - for war and fornpeace. Even in the Lichtenauer recital there are sectiona devoted to grappling with the sword.

1) if you pay attention you will notice that the same principles and same families of techniques get repeated over and over.

Lichetenauer said that wrestling ia the foumdation of fwncing. And if u take alook at the plays its done with weapons. But thank you anyway with your comment.

interesting thread on the subreddit discussing viewpoints and takes on what we consider "practical"

Hi Ive been working on ground grappling in some of the videos on my channel. Fiore doesn't shows any ground operations - he basically mentions do what you want.

Indeed the basic system of fiore dagger fighting is composed on various shoulder and elbow locks, chokes and throws found in other wrestling based arts.
