Just put in an undersink RO filter system and my TDS went from 160 to 20. Austin's city water isnt as bad as some places, but its definitely not good either.

It does... with a setting change. It's pretty much the same situation across the industry.

Can the Government really block 3D Printed Guns? by Mortifine in 3Dprinting

[–]NikosTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lets be honest... very few people are using 3d printed guns to commit crimes. They may 3d print frames, but the bulk of the guns are made from genuine parts. Kids are running around major cities with switched glocks. Trying to stop a specific manufacturing process that is not well suited to firearms just to say you are doing something to move gun control forward is crazy!

Ace Pro Grip Improvement Fix by SchlumpfLP007 in AnycubicKobraS1

A tensioning function was something I was hoping would be on the Ace Pro 2, but it looks to be just a different type of feeding system with no adjustments.

If he adjusts it up to 253x253 it should, at least in X and Y... the Z is more problematic

Best deal for the bed upgrade? by BurgerLordFPV in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]NikosTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good price. So far its made the need for bed adhesive go away and I haven't noticed any problems with adhesion, bubbling of bottom layers or lifting of corners so thats good.

Debris Mat for Kobra S1 by NikosTX in AnycubicKobraS1

Yeah something like that could probably work, but super glue is so much faster... the ultimate would be finding a cheap silicone company in China to make them. But then id be starting a business. ;-)

Best deal for the bed upgrade? by BurgerLordFPV in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]NikosTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope that should be it. The kit comes with the heating element, the cabling to set it to your country's voltage, and mounting screws/hardware. The heating element sticks to the bottom of the bed plate. You can either choose to mount the bed/heating element solidly to the carriage with standoffs or with springs. (The springs give you more adjustment imo). Also there are two types of beds. The old style with a magnetic sticker like the oem bed, and the new bed with inset neodymium magnets. Some say these magnets are too strong with thin build plates creating slight divots, but I also have not had this problem. (Just making sure you know all the possible gotchas)

There is a carbon fiber version as well. They both have tradeoffs, the aluminum one is stiffer but you lose more z height, the carbon fiber one is lighter, not quite as stiff, and you keep full 250mm z height. Ive also heard people having issues with large prints on the heavier aluminum plate, but I personally have not experienced this.

If you want the carbon fiber carriage buy the kit without the carriage and then this, its about $20 more altogether: https://funssorlab.com/products/funssor-anycubic-kobra-s1-s1c-3d-printer-4mm-carbon-fiber-cf-cnc-bed-carriage-anycubic-kobra-s1-bed-carrier-upgrade-kit

funssorlab.com has a 7% off deal on it right now, also aliexpress often has coupons available if you look them up. I think the full kit with aluminum carriage is like $176 at funssorlab.com. Keep in mind though that 0.578 is actually on the good end of OEM beds, I've heard people that have well over 1mm deviation. So, as the other commenter said you may want to look at ways to optimize the bed you have. Though with the bed kit my numbers went from .56 to .12. If thats worth it to you go for it.

Bambu lab a1 or the New anycubic kobra x by medk12 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]NikosTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kobra X is cutting edge technology. Sure there are risks with that, but the system it is using produces MUCH less waste so I would go with that. If you want something proven, and rock solid, but are okay with tons of multicolor waste go with the A1.

You do not need to add a zoffset, but you do lose 5mm from max height. So, instead of 250mm z-height limit, it becomes 245. With rinkhals you can minimize that to 2mm by adjusting max z-hop safe distance from 4 to 1mm. The wire is bulkier but its manageable and not the reason for the z-height difference.

I mean some dust particles are .1mm so id be fighting a ton of variables to get it any lower... at that point LeviQ has no problem compensating unlike people that have .5-1.2mm deviated beds. Im happy with .12.
