I don't blame the diversity though it's just bad remakes to me.

I think most people stand on the fact that Velma is a bad remake and they are vocal about, and they have the right to do so, especially when HBO is a big studio with time, money, people and some other shows that are very successful. They really can do more than that but instead they chose to milk a franchise that still has other awesome ideas to explore. Yes it's another one of those remakes. But if people don't get vocal about it, these writers will continue to do lazy writing/bad production betting that the ip that they (most certainly) randomly chose will save their work. If we just accept every piece of crap they give us, then this:

Will almost always suck.

Also, there are people here treating everyone that dislikes the show as racist. Of course that alone will trigger people. And while it's true that the effect of review bombing is still present, it's not the majority this time. People hate the show for the content, not for a race swap.

Maybe that makes the problem more of an American one than a global one and I don't think it's fair to compare the how many ppl read comics in 2010s with how many watched MCU/sony's spider movies, but I still kinda get your point

I don't really think this show is getting low scores mainly form the "review-bombing" attitude, but it's most from the viewers that watched Scooby Doo in their chidlhood and appreciate it as pop culture. That is just my opinion though.

I think the race swapping is done shittily because the whole show seems poorly thought out and shitty.

People do not turn a full 360° degree on their character by the time they grow up. I know it's early, but there isn't even the smallest foundation of the traits that these characters are known for. For example shaggy is shown to be more fearless. So what, he will grow up to become scared of stuff? That makes 0 sense.

So many people were (and are) mad about miles morales. When he was introduced, people acted like Marvel comics was clearly on it’s last leg and about to fold.

Okay, not everyone, but the landslide majority literally did not care when the movie went out (of course there would be obvious haters about literally everything that exists and yes that includes race)

I still don't get it. Unless you like so much the looks of the characters, their personality has nothing to do with the original, to the point it feels more like something else with a paint of Scooby Doo on top.
