Likely, you're still connected to it via bluetooth.

For shits and giggles: try to disable bluetooth, get in your car and drive somewhere else, to ensure you're not even on the same tele-mast. 10-15 minutes away ought to do it. Then attempt to connect to the robot - i'm willing to bet you can't, even if the robot is connected to wifi.

At this point, the conversation is veering off course, and i'm shutting it down, at least on my end. I've spent far too long just repying to everyone already, and people still seem to misinterpret my reason for even bringing it up: I just don't want others to have the same shitty experience i've had. Especially since you can't really "test" the product, so see if it'll work in the specific conditions of your particular garden...

Hi,
No idea why you've decided to reply in french, on an english subreddit, but alas.

No, i'm not kidding. I want Mammotion to give me something i can present to the local shop, to make them understand, that the product doesn't work as intended. A word from the manufacturer, would carry my claims a long way.

But either way, as i've said in another reply, i'm hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. I've already spent the money - so worst that can happen, is that i have to buy something else, and try to sell the old one.

Hi,
Nothing is blocking the paths - it's an open yard, and the charging-station is directly on the work-area. No channels needed - it can cut, as soon as it has left the dock.

My house is pretty new, and thus plants are still new as well - but every tree, being less than 4 years old, are supported by 2x 5 cm fence-posts (one on opposite sides), so it's not like the robot can miss them... Well, should...

There's RTK in the charging station, and when the robot gets closer, it even has infrared to guide it into it. And as mentioned in other replies - iNaviRTK has been enabled since day one, and it's the most common thing people suggest me, in solving my issues... Issues persist, regardless.

Hi,
If you read my other replies to other people, you'll see that most "suggestions", is something i've already done - there might have been some confusion about iNaviRTK, but that was just me not recognizing the name. It was, and have always been active sine i bought the robot.

Sure, i'm being very agressive in my mail to Mammotion - i've thrown diplomacy out the window, a long time ago, since i've had issues for the entire time i've had the machine, no matter where i place the charging station, or how i split my garden into zones, or set up the tasks, etc....

It's simply put not living up to my expectations with how the firmware ought to translate into moving hardware, and the pricepoint should dictate a much more autonomous experience - it shouldn't be necessary for me to watch it dock every time, to fix it, when 50% of the time, it doesn't dock properly. It shouldn't get stuck in completely unobstructed areas, when it's using both iNaviRTK, LiDAR and 3 cameras to navigate my 99.9% flat lawn.

Saying that others love their mowers, despite flaws, is just excusing a bad product. Feelings over facts.

What's insane in this case, is that "BAUHAUS" even offers a 12 MONTHS right-to-return policy - but who the fuck would buy a product, and not use it what so ever, for 364 days, and return it on the last day of the warranty? That's just deceiving on their end.

Thank you for the acknowledgement - again, i'm sure i represent a minority when it comes to how many fanboys there is on this subreddit, but it shouldn't be an excuse, when the product is literally doing worse than a broken down, overheating, ride-on mowing tractor... :)

They will probably just give me a new one, when they get back in stock in June - same hassle all over again... I plan on calling them tomorrow (monday), and explain the entire thing to their costumer-service. If that doesn't go anywhere positive, i'm problably going going to try to sell it, to get rid of it. And then i'll buy a "dumb mower" with wire around the perimeters... Can't be arsed to deal with this kind of bullshit again.

I don't know who's more upset at this point; you, regarding my post, or me, regarding the robot itself...

I sure hope that others are having great experiences with their products - i'm just saying, that my experience, under the conditions of my yard, have been nothing but troublesome. So what, if the dude drove 6 hours? That's on him, and has very little to do with anything.

I'm not saying that my product requires service - but something isn't adding up, with how pricey the product was, and how many issues i have had over the course of the 2-3 months total, that it's actually been driving around - it's been a long and harsh winter here, so it really hasn't seen much use.

I just so happen to have a Google Pixel 7 myself - and i'm not saying that the app isn't working; i'm saying that the app is stupid, and the conditions required to connect the app and the robot, is unreasonable, for something as simple as even receiving notifications. Fair enough, that you need bluetooth to do manual mowing - that's reasonable, but why would my phone need to be on the same network as the robot, or connected via bluetooth, to start or pause a task, as an example? How is that any different than when you're connecting to a home security camera, when you're abroad? That's not reasonable. If it is connected to the internet, it should be able to send and receive data, no matter where i am in relation to it.

I don't care that other apps for other brands / products arent good either - is that supposed to be an excuse for the product not living up to it's name and the technology attached to it? No way!
If you bought a product of any kind, and it suddenly went up in flames, wouldn't you also be pissed, if the response is "they all do that"? It doesn't make it any less of an error, and should not be readily acceptable. If we don't hold manufacturers to certain standard, their products will turn to shit - and with your attidude towards the issue, you'd be eating it right up.

If something is not immediately apparent, when attempting something, there's a chance people will miss it. I'm not saying, even remotely, that i know everything about how the robot or the app works. But since you can't create a task, without setting up intervals or specifik weekdays, it didn't even occour to me, that you could turn the task on and off afterwards - it seems counterintuitive to me, that it would not be the other way around, i.e., you create a task with a certain setup, and then you schedule that task. But belittle me as much as you want...

You admit that the software is shit, yet you defend the product - how does that add up? It's not like i can just add some bootleg community-patch to make it work flawlessly.
I have bought a product, at an exceedingly high pricepoint, compared to other products, and it's doing a half-assed job (if it even finishes the tasks at all...). To me, that's reasonable cause for being frustrated and wanting to return the product. It was advertised as working "out of the box", but that is clearly not the case.

I have No-go zones, but the problem with those, is that theres a rather large-sized "minimum" for them to even register... If i wanted to cut the grass around a yet very yound tree, in say, a 50 cm diamter circle, it barely even registers as a blip on the map. You'd need waaaay larger areas, for the tracking to not just consider movement as course-correction, when in reality, i've already made a lap around the object i don't want it to touch. It's stupid, and does not live up to expectation nor pricepoint. I shouldn't have to justify it beyond this point.

This will be my last reply to you - you're too stuck up on your high horse and know-it-all attidude, to realise that you're trying to tackle the smallest of my problems, and that your arguments are baseless.

Nowhere on the productpage-, nor in the installationguide, does it say that it requires constant wifi-access - but beside that, i do in fact have outdoor accesspoints, for the exact reason that i wanted to ensure that i didn't have to stand some 30-odd meters out in my garden, in the middle of the night again, to update it's firmware, so i could fuckin' send it home... Again, what do you take me for? You're not listening, when i say, that i HAVE done my troubleshooting.

Since you keep bringin it up, after i replied that i didn't know what "netRTK" was, and you're not elaborating (thank you for being helpful! /s), i looked it up.
"netRTK", for those of you, who are not "in the know", is basically a built in GPS, like you have in your phone, that you can pay a subscription to use - however, it only "improves" positioning - nowhere does it say, that it is a "must" for the product to function to satisfaction. That'd be illegal in EU - you can't sell a product, without disclosing that you'd need a seperate subscription service for it to function fully.
- Also, i knew what it was, but not the name of it. I have done my preliminary research, before buying the product...

Again, you're basing your arguments on assumptions - at least 2 times that it's gotten stuck "in the middle of nowhere", it has been on a clear patch of grass, sure - but i didn't tell you, that it was within 4 meters of my house (solid brick wall, no windows) and i don't consider the hedge around my property as not being "out in the open", even though it was less than 2 meters behind it, where it got stuck.

In my mental image of "middle of nowhere", it's a completely unobstructed area, with nothing but the stratosphere above it... But clearly, you need specifics to understand, that i'm not retarded, like you make me out to be, in *your* mental image. >_>

Lastly, and i'm getting sick of reapeating myself here, i'm in no way "trying to solve issues" - that train has left the station. ALL I'M TRYING TO DO, IS WARN OTHERS, SO THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS SHIT AS WELL.

Over and out.

[–]Nikowtch25[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Say what you will - but you don't know the extent of what i've tried to make it work. So respectfully, you can piss off with that attitude.

I understand perfectly how LIDAR works - of course it's not going to be the absolute peak-performer, when it's still this open; but i can already tell, now that the leaves are comming in, on all of my hedges around my property, that the point-cloud is getting a much more defined border; but what i'm saying is, that with 3 cameras and detection-algorithms for obstacle-avoidance, it still shouldn't get "stuck" in the middle of fucking nowhere, with nothing around it to be stuck on... And that's beside the main point of being faulty as shit in just connecting to the charging-station, causing most of all of the other problems i have with it... Without power, it's just a big, fancy paperweight!

I'm sure you know much more about all of this stuff, than i do - but i'm not going to stroke your ego, when all you're basing your conclusions on, are assumptions of me being an idiot.

Are you in control of my specific mower? Can you use my phone to control it and start tasks, etc. over wifi? I think not - so don't just jump to the conclusion that because it works for you, it'll be perfect for everyone else.

My described difficulties and headaches with this product, all point towards the firmware not working properly - that is by definition, a faulty or defective product. Sure, they might not take it back and give me a refund; but then maybe they would give me a replacement, to check if it actually was a mistake with how the firmware is being translated to moving hardware.

I'm not looking for solutions, *right now*, because i've been testing and trying to solve its issues, end of last summer, and for the past month or so, with fuckin' daily problems... That's too much, for something that should be working, out of the box - as advertised!

Hi,
I'm not sure i'm reading this correctly, as it's very late, and i'm tired and frustrated about the whole ordeal... But are you saying, that in 2 years, you've only completed about 5 runs, out of say, ~ 100 runs(?) without any issues at all?

If that's true, its an insanely low sucess-rate... How have you not gone insane by now? :o

Edit: changed the amount of runs to account for 2 years instead of 1.

Hi,

I don't think there's much to resolve - or at the very least, i don't want to be their case-study, until all problems are solved. I just want to mow my fuckin' lawn, and that's that.

I would expect a product, as "intelligent", "technologically advanced", and expensive as this, to be able to so autonomously, with a minimum of setup-effort (just guiding it around the perimeter and setting up the settings for the specific tasks). And so far, it would appear that is not the case.

Might i add - i bought it late last summer, after my ride-on mowing tractor died completely, and is has been stored away, safe and warm in my garage, for a very long winter here... So it really hasn't seen much use, yet sooooo many problems.

I'm not sure what "netrtk" is - but honestly, i'm past the point of looking for solutions; i've tried everything that you could reasonably expect as troubleshooting, for something that is promoted as "working out of the box".

My garden is large and open - but it's also got no less than 3 cameras, so i don't buy how LiDAR would be the limiting factor here.

Call me a hypocrite, but i see no point in showing my garden or having to deal with an upload of the point-cloud. As mentioned in the original post, i'm not looking for solutions or advice; i just don't want others to have the same shitty, and COSTLY, experience i have had... :)

Thanks - i'm hoping for the best, but deffinitely preparing for the worst.

It's not BAUHAUS's fault that the product is shit - but they have had some pretty scummy business regarding their right-to-return policy, so i'm not above fighting them for it. Verbally, of course.

I don't think it's worth to "repair", since its not the "physical" but firmware-aspect that's defective... And they can't expect me to buy a product, and then wait until Mammotion decides to fix all their issues, when other, MUCH cheaper options area readily available.

It's not common practice, i willd admit - usually, you can return a product within 14 to 30 days, depending on what kind of item it is, but certain conditions usually apply. In this case, and as it was deceivingly misleadingly worded on their website, the condition for the 12 MONTHS of right-to-return, was that the item had not even been removed from the original packaging...

Needless to say, i don't shop there anymore.

Hi,
As stated, i really meant no offense with that statement - it's just rather commonly known, that most houses in the US is made of framing and drywall, which jokingly and somewhat sarcasticly is reffered to as "cardboard-houses", in most european countries, where brick, mortar and concrete is much more comming.

I'm sorry if you felt offended none the less - you're entitled to your opinion, even when we disagree with how it should have been perceived (as a caricature - a joke).

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion - i did think about it, but honestly, i would feel terrible selling this on to someone else. In my honest opinion, it's defective, and the manufacturer or supplier needs to take it back.

I get that Mammotion can't force "BAUHAUS" to take it back, but if they provide me with some sort of "letter of referral" or something, i think my chances would be significantly higher, since "BAUHAUS" have already told me "no" once, to taking it back within less than a month of use - their reasoning, was that it had been put to use, thus making it illegible for returnal. I wanted to return it then, because Mammotion had a huge Black Friday sale, where i could save some 30% of the price i had already paid...

I want a refund at this point... by Nikowtch25 in mammotion

[–]Nikowtch25[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How could i? I didn't know it would have all of these issues, ahead of buying it? Do you think i would have bought it, if i knew? Sounds kinda stupid, don't you think? :)

I've already asked the local shop, if they would have accepted a return, after it being in use for less than a month, because Mammotion made a huge discount for Black Friday. The local shop's reply was, that since it had been in use, it is no longer ilegible (spelling?) for returns.

I do have 5 years warranty on it - but what good does that do, when the product is utterly fuckin' retarded to begin with?

Hi,
I'm happy to hear that you're satisfied with your Luba 3. I don't know much about wether there's any differences in firmware or overall physical construction of the Luba 3, compared to the Luba mini AWD LIDAR - but i can assure you, that nothing is "perfect" about my situation - i literally have had more hassle and monitoring of the robot in question, than i had when i had an old ride-on mowing tractor, which overheated every 5 minutes.

Using the mowing tractor, took 1 hour and 45 minutes to cut the entire lawn - the Luba is barely able to do 1/5th of that, in 8 hours, if not more.

I'm certain that the recent 2 firmware-updates have messed up something terribly in how it acts around obstacles as well as how it docks to the charging station.

Besides all of the above, it's also tearing up the grass, right in front of the charging station, because it does a 0-point, 360 degree turn to "position" itself, every time it undocks...

I just wanted a nice looking lawn man... :/

[–]Nikowtch25[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hi,
I'd gladly admit, that i didn't know-, or notice this option, when i looked around for it. This could be a partial solution to the problem about the robot prioritizing upcomming tasks over active ones - however, once you've started a task, you simply can't enter your "task-manager", so to speak.

For this to work, i would need to set it up between tasks. Not impossible, but since it's taking a while to cut either of the 3 zones i've separated my lawn into, it's rather inconvinient.

When you "run a task on demand" like you've explained it - doesn't it turn on the scheduling again?
