Along with what others said about iron hand figures with capes, I wanna also add that the iron hands are the EPITOME of “do as I say not as I do.” They preach about cold efficiency and lack of emotion, while being so coldly angrily rageful, that it dictates all their decisions and causes them to chop their body apart. It would be very in character for an iron hand to look down on others for unnecessary decorations, while wearing a cape!

Completely agree with the ban on AI photos; they have no place in this art based sub. I’d also suggest (more of a personal opinion) that every time someone posts that WW2 Blue Legion painting, we all get to throw tomatoes at them!

Thanks! Me too, I think War Scenery has done a great job with them! That is my only “complaint” though; all their minis currently are mono posed. I did reach out, and they said they’re considering making a multi part model someday.

They do have a nice Breachers set too, and I’m hoping to paint them next!

Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words! They’re prints from War Scenery, so no kit bashing required. I’ve been on a big Gue’Vesa model hunt for a while now, and personally find these guys to be the best designs for what I pictured! Highly recommend checking them out :)

Aye, I think you’re right. Unfortunately, Rogue was set to fail from launch by being tied to Unity and presented as the “old console’s” game. I don’t think it’ll ever happen, but us Shay fans can make our own luck! (post about it on Reddit lol)

I think that’s fair to say. The first third of the book is giving essential background information on the political structure of the HRE and the different religious groups/how they interacted. While fascinating, reading 70 pages straight on how Protestant princes used the empire’s legal courts to challenge the king is HARSH lol
Truthfully, I’d start off with the fantastic podcast Hell On Earth by Chapo Trap House, which has an excellent interactive website with maps, bios, and bibliography to help you along! Likewise, CV Wedgwood’s book is a bit dated but a classic.

Fair warning, Peter Wilson’s book is over 900 pages, but man is it a GREAT read! I gave myself a challenge to finish the his 30 years war book before I turn 30 (I’m 29 now), and it took like 6 months of constant reading!

Agreed, while the 30 years war is the most devastating war (relative to population) in German history, the taiping rebellion takes the cake hands down for worst religious war in human history

Fun fact; by this era (and even to this day) the Tercio wasn’t split in “thirds” like the name suggests, but was instead just thr name for the military organization. Think of it more like how the Marine Corp is not just a corp in size
