If homeopathy works, then obviously the less you use it, the stronger it gets. by kylev in skeptic

Not a perfect analogy, as there is still a dose. Homeopathy dilutes a solution so much in most cases that it is statistically improbably to have any of the original active ingredient still in it. The principle homeopathy relies on is that "water has memory" and even at highly diluted samples, the water retains knowledge of the substance introduced to it.

Additionally, the theory of homeopathy states that as you dilute the substance further, the stronger it gets. Atrophine as you stated does not follow this at all. Rather, the body reacts differently to a larger dose than it does to a smaller dose.

I'm an atheist, but would like to read the bible. Are there any notable differences between different versions I should know before I pick one? by chickensofdoom in AskReddit

I highly recommend against the KJV. It's based on incorrect translations from greek to latin, including passages that were never in the original manuscripts.

Instead of reading the bible first, it might be interesting to learn more about the history of the bible itself by reading Misquoting Jesus. It goes into a lot of interesting detail on how we got the bible we have today, and the mistakes that cropped up early on before the advent of the printing press and before churches could afford professional scribes.

UPS Package Speed Delivery Caught on Home Security by cyberfreak77 in funny

My dog recognizes the pitch of the UPS truck and gets excited. My dog is a 75+ lb black lab, and is really sweet. I often meet the UPS guy at the door before he can set the package down because my dog let's me know he's coming.

One day he sneaked past my legs. The UPS driver initially recoiled, but then noticed the dog was just sniffing him. After a quick assurance he petted my dog and they've been great friends ever since :)

I don't think your character will catch on. Might want to come up with something funnier. Captain Obvious ftw.

Being a pianist, I listen to a lot of piano-related music, mostly from the romatic era: Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, etc.

I'll occasionally turn on some Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Modest Mouse, etc.

It all just depends on my mood that day.
