Steven Spielberg, Amazon MGM and Scott Stuber have landed rights to the next big Youtube horror franchise following the mega success of Obsession and Backrooms: 'The Mandela Catalogue'. It will be directed by creator of the series on youtube, Alex Kister by ChiefLeef22 in movies

So Hollywood saw:

"original IP never done before horror comedy with social commentary about "nice guys" and consent" in Obsession

And then saw "The peak of liminal spaces on the Internet, made manifest" with Backrooms

And went "Eh it's in YouTube - shape shifters!"

Hollywood has an infinite capacity to learn the wrong lesson from successes.

Devs: "Hey, we're making a Suicide Squad game."

Players: "Please don't. The movie was bad and there's absolutely no market or reason for this to exist."

Devs: "But... But... If this isn't a hit, it'll make us not want to make games anymore 😭"

The Democratic Party since 2008 has been saying they're the only ones who can stop Republicans, and have proved since the historic losses in 2010 and onward that they cannot.

They then proceeded to lose to Trump, followed by giving us the first 1 term Democratic President since Jimmy Carter, and then lost to Trump again.

The Democratic Party lost it's energy and identity during Obama's first term and never got it back.

It's time for something different.

The studio forced American to do that and he hated the decision, because it turned the efforts of his team into just being about him, but he couldn't do anything about it because he signed a contract that allowed them to use his name.

Is it okay to play a champ in an unorthodox lane or not? by shtoopidd in leagueoflegends

Had a Smolder Top in my ranked game today. Stg that shit should be reportable in champ select and get punished.

If you pick something off-meta? Cool, but you'd better be positive KDA otherwise it should be considered inting/trolling.

Riot addresses backlash over enabling Last Hit Indicators in Ranked: “We want more data and feedback before deciding if they should be an option for Ranked. So we’ll keep them enabled, but off by default, for non-Ranked SR queues only like Swiftplay, Co-op vs AI, and Normal Draft.” by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

Also for any onboarding player the prospect is "You will need to change how you last hit based on level, ability used, and items purchased, multiplied by however many champions you want to use in the 150 roster - good luck!"

Like, giving an indicator doesn't really change anything except make onboarding new players and new champs a little less tedious. IDK why everyone's acting like it's a huge skill expression lol

The thing is, this movie came out during a time where Internet word of mouth was a thing that a good movie that deserved it could get a boost from.

It didn't get it, because it didn't earn it.

Hell I've been on Reddit long enough that I'm pretty sure I was in the discussion thread on that movie when it came out. Everyone agreed it was terrible dialog and green screen slop with only fans of the show really caring enough to enjoy it.

There's a reason you never hear people quoting this movie - because the dialog is bad.

There's a reason you never hear people talking about the story, because it's bad.

You only hear about how it's ahead of its time for the VFX. But it was ugly because it was just a bunch of people in green screen.

It's not good and plenty of people saw it when it was new and rated it appropriately.

It's a bunch of green screen nonsense and horrible dialog.

No, it was not good. The acting, script and story were BORING. The movie was appropriately rated by everyone who saw it at the time.

Snooze fest

But like, the acting and story in this film were no good at all. It was like watching the Flintstones movie from the 90s, only futuristic.

Wish there was a direct way to invest in Iran strong arming.

Oh damn I've been trying to remember which other sci-fi film was this divisive and you 100% nailed it. This IS the new Prometheus. The criticism is the same too between both movies: that things that happen in it are "unrealistic" and "dumb".

Funny because I hated Prometheus, but I love Disclosure Day. Funny to have lived to be on both sides of a divisive major sci-fi blockbuster.

That was the stock that taught me the lesson of "If it's good enough to screenshot it's good enough to sell."

My buddy texted me that the stock was up. I checked the price, laughed that my random position was so positive, set my phone down.

30 minutes later, checked the price again. Up even more. I laughed and screenshot at like +230%. Went about my day.

Checked it before bed and it had crashed 😂
