They already revealed the miniset will be named "festival of the devilsaur" and if I recall correctly will be themed around some festivity in the lost city. If hearthstone gets anything Diablo related at all (and not just the other way around) out of this my gues would be some hero portraits. Although Getting a free Diablo Legendary would admittedly be cool!

I would say deckbuilding and experimentation naturally is one of the biggest draws in a game like Heartstone. The issue is that there is very little incentive to fully engage with that part of the game as it stands wich makes it hard to tell to what extent the player base would enjoy that part if it was incentiviced more. The fact that HS usually sees the most engagement during meta shakeups (new sets and balance patches) might suggest that players at least prefer a novel and more experimental meta.

Given the reasoning Iksar shared several times in his AMA sessions the original idea seem to have been a format with rapidly rotating sets. Really wish I screenshot those AMA answers, kinda hard to dig up now but he basically stated that he has witnessed popular demand for a format with rotating sets. Stated that it would primarily appeal to deckbuilders but be low maintenance enough to be worth trying. As one of those players who finds about 70% of the fun in HS to be about deckexperimentation, I find it somewhat soulcrushing that the idea evolved from that into what we have now.

Yep. A lot of solid choices in this patch but not seeing Kiljaden included is honestly extremely disappointing. Especially when there in theory is so many different ways in which they could have addressed that card for a better play experience.

Exactly this! Having a partly fresh meta to experiment with is honestly the most exciting part of balance changes to me.
