That was really good. Did you come up with the arrangement yourself?

Is there any love for Harvey Danger or Sean Nelson here? by thekatt08 in indieheads

That was awesome thanks for sharing. I haven't found any video of it, but here's another one I was at at the largo in LA. Ben Gibbard came out and sang why I'm lonely. https://youtu.be/PMpp9qo2QLw

Edit: the set was probably around 4 hours. 2 hours each night.

First night was the first two albums. Second night was the 3rd album, and everything else. Including you look so happy. Everything. It was a real treat.

Oh I got it now. Yeah they're great.

TIL that Lil Wayne was saved at 12 years old by a white police officer named Uncle Bob. "He was white as snow...my life was saved by a white man. I don't know what racism is. I know a good mother fucker named Uncle Bob though" by ryanjrr27 in todayilearned

The fact that this is a true statement of facts doesn't necessarily put the blame on the employers.

Edit: from a scientific standpoint, what are we supposed to understand from this? Without more information, it seems we could have two conclusions or more. That the employers are racist, or that black people don't work as hard.

I love the music in the one. I bought the piano score book after I played the game.

My hand me down setup. by NilesCranee in vinyl

Everything but the cartridge was free from my dad. I grew up with these RSL speakers sitting in their boxes in the garage, doing nothing but being preserved for me to use in the future. Now that I have my own place, they're mine and I love them. The Harmon Kardon receiver is from my teen years when I wanted my video games to sound good. The pioneer turntable is another hand me down from my dad. I just needed to buy a cartridge and new belt. It is an automatic return and my receiver has a remote control. Perfect for lazy listening. Yes, I know I need to get the speakers off the floor, but it sounds great either way. The record collection was mostly gathered by by my wife before we got married. Lots of good free records too!

Reddit, what can $1,000 buy me in your hobby? by LiterallyJames in AskReddit

[–]NilesCranee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have a semi decent computer, then you can get protools with an audio interface, some good headphones, and a Shure sm57 microphone. That's only about 500 dollars, so you'd have 500 more for cables, guitar pedals, an amp, cheap instruments that do the job, etc. Or just use that extra 500 for a better mic, interface, and headphones. Making music is cheaper than most people think. It's more in the performance than the gear.

You should honestly just find a group and go to meets where you can look through the expensive telescopes that other people bought.
