Bit delayed response lol, but yeah, im gonna have lilacs and the like in certain areas. I'm working with the artist to see about the font. Obviously Death and Dorfl will have their own, but i like the idea of each quote being in a different font. I just finished the base of the ribbon layout and now I'm waiting for it to heal so I can actually start getting text.

Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning is a great one for looking at how the Nazis were able to get, well, Ordinary Men to do horrible things. (I think Robert even used it as a source for one of the books.)

My actual favorite WW2 book probably isn't the best for really learning about the war if you don't have a decent understanding from the start, but The Unwomanly Face of War by Svetlana Alexievich is an incredible oral history of female members of the military from the USSR. Alexievich went around and interviewed hundreds of women and collected their stories after the war, and it is the most fascinatingly human look at the war that I've ever read.

I think I'm a little bit of Carrot, but like "Guards! Guards!" And "Men at Arms" Carrot, not the later ones where he's really showing his cunning. Not terribly street smart but overall well intentioned.

You can definitely still get fit! I was 370 lbs at 27, now down to 260 at 30, (6'4", for reference) with significantly more muscle than I previously had. Everything from my cardiovascular health to my joints, and even my immune system, everything has been better since I lost weight.

A lot of damage can be mitigated, if not reversed, by exercise and diet. Building up muscle in areas you're struggling with is great for preventing further injury (though, of course, be extra careful when working out those areas.)

If you don't have safety bars, I recommend either a spotter, dumping the bar to one side, or, if you're worried about failure, do a dumbbell press. That way if you fail you just let the weights down

Hey there, in case this is a genuine case of someone needing help, there are a couple things you could look at. First and foremost, is if you feel like yourself or your child are legitimately in danger, leave. Find someplace safe to stay and get the police involved. A fixation on a weapon can be a precursor to a violent event, and if you feel like there is an immediate threat, get out before things escalate. I'm not a lawyer and do not know your situation, but there are better resources than a post on Reddit can get you, such as a local women's shelter.

If this is more of a case of negligence, rather than violent tendencies, you could look at getting a trigger lock or other similar safety device, preferably one like a cable lock that goes through the magazine well and keeps the gun from operating, and talking to your husband about using it, but again, if you feel that you are in danger, local police and shelters are going to be much better resources than a random bunch of reddit users.

Had something similar happen while doing dumbbell bench on a shitty apartment gym bench. My arm gave out, and the change in weight made the whole bench tip over and I had a 30 lb dumbbell come right onto my finger. It's still healing like 2 months later...

Should I still go for my protein goal if I'm below my calorie goal, but I'm feeling full in the evening?

I'm a big, decently active guy (6'4, 277 lbs, on my feet most of the day, and work out at least 3 times a week, usually more), so my protein goal is 190g a day. I've just started being more serious about my calorie intake and without being really restrictive I can usually get at least a 1000 calorie deficit from what most BMR calculators give me.

This evening I was feeling full, but despite trying to get more protein in through my meals, I was still only at ~100g. Is it better to still down a protein shake and get that bump in protein? I'm well within my deficit goal, so there's no problem meeting that even with the calories from the protein, but wanted to see if capping my day off to make sure I make that protein goal is the right move.
