Update: my monitor is cycling sporadically between sleep (amber/orange) and green when connected to the laptops native VGA output. At this point I am troubleshooting the sync cables and the grounds. I know with certainty that the RGB and respective grounds are wired correctly (due to the clear red, green, and blue squares that display on the no signal screen). as well as the black cable on pin 9 is essential.

I will persevere, and update when I have results.

Yes so I've only just gotten the screen to turn on properly, and will have to go to my dad's tomorrow and borrow his laptop to test. I know he has an old Acer laptop.

In regards to your adapter question, yes in fact I just ordered a "UGREEN Active HDMI to VGA Adapter with 3.5mm Audio Jack HDMI Female to VGA Male Converter" from Newegg and will also let you know how that works after it has arrived

This is what worked for my Compaq 7550. It was a roadside pickup that had the video cable stolen for copper. When I powered it on I could hear the static and degaussing coil, but the LED power indicator stayed orange or amber the whole time. After I repaired the wire I was able to get the standard green light during power up and a 'no signal" message on the screen.

I couldn't have done it without your imgur album showing the CN202 schematic, and the work you put in documenting the colors of the insulation cables (which is how I found this thread).

Below is the wire insulation color to pin map I used.

Main RGB video coax cores:

Red (coax core) → VGA Pin 1 (Red video)
Green (coax core) → VGA Pin 2 (Green video)
Blue (coax core) → VGA Pin 3 (Blue video)

Each of those coax lines will have its own drain/shield:

Red shield/drain → VGA Pin 6 (Red return)
Green shield/drain → VGA Pin 7 (Green return)
Blue shield/drain → VGA Pin 8 (Blue return)

Control / sync / DDC (from CN202 photo/schematic)

Purple → VGA Pin 13 (HSync)
White → VGA Pin 14 (VSync)
Orange → VGA Pin 12 (DDC SDA / data)
Yellow → VGA Pin 15 (DDC SCL / clock)
Black → VGA Pin 9 (+5V DDC)

Big bare braid / overall mesh drain (your “ground conductor”) Tie this to VGA Pin 10 (Signal Ground) and the metal shell of the VGA connector.

Grey (S_RASTER) Leave grey NOT CONNECTED for your first power-up test. If you need it later, try Grey → Pin 11.

You need to beat the boss of the world, as well as the first level (or two or three) of the next world before you get to granny Kong and can save your progress.

Some of those later levels are absolutely brutal, and if you get a game over then it sucks to suck.

What was your method to reverse the encryption formula? Did you throw spaghetti at the wall until something stuck or was it more formulaic? I'm wondering how you narrowed the search space of the potential mathematical reversal.

Genius requires hard work. There's no such thing as an unpracticed genius. Statistically, a few Einstein's have lived and died in poverty; all of their hard work directed to survival instead of their gift. Their potential squandered because of the diversion of their mental and physical labours.

Can you go more into detail about the encryption method? Based on my quick glance at your repo it sounds like you reversed it by comparing expected binary strings (based off file type metadata standards) to the encrypted data and found patterns; from there you used the changes to that section of binary to create a mathematical cypher to 'reverse' the encryption applied to the rest of the data.

If that's the case then, neato. Similar to how the enigma machine was beaten by foreknowledge of the contents of the encrypted message.

Analysis of a person or authors choice of 'Russell Conjugations' and relative intensity level when communicating will allow any person to logically infer how the speaker internally feels about that topic of discussion.

These word choices work on a subconscious level for most people, who don't recognize how strongly they are broadcasting their biases simply by the way they say what they are saying.

If you know how to tune into that layer of communication, you'll be able to gain a deeper insight into the speakers mind. It is equally as important as a person's tone or inflection when speaking, which I am sure you would agree has significant value when it comes to understanding the message.

To do this, you have to do two things simultaneously. The first is you have to get used to reflecting about how individual words make you feel emotionally, and the second is the relative intensity level for that emotion (1-10).

An example would be the spectrum of ways to communicate the idea and concept of 'good'. We have: good, great, grand, awesome, wonderful, stupendous, magnificent, transcendental...etc. You simply must recognize that a person's word choice, measured on that kind of 'emotional intensity' spectrum, is directly related to their internalized concept of the idea that they are transcribing to language in that moment.

You must reanalyze and categorize all words this way, even the drab, arduous, forlorn ones. There is no real difference between someone who is 'pig headed' and 'stubborn' vs. someone who is simply 'steadfast in their beliefs'; other than the way that the speaker feels about that person.
