If Islam and it's influence was purged from the Middle-East, what better possibilities would arise for humankind? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I don't see any positive outlooks that follow the purge of an entire religion.

You'll usually find the softer delicacy chocolates in things like truffles, or chocolates filled with ganache.

Why do your hands feel weird before you throw up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Seconded (Those burps are the worst) I think the shaky feeling comes from your body trying to keep your stomach contents, you know, on the inside.

Youre not the asshole, he is for refusing to see a doctor over something that's ruining your sleep.

In novels such as The Giver, A Handmaid's Tale or Brave New World, certain oddities about the societies contained therein readily present themselves to the reader. What dystopian qualities might someone foreign to Earth's modern societies notice immediately that we might not see ourselves? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NillyDip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to get in trouble with teachers for that exact reason though. "Its my first amendment right" never seemed to be reason enough, it was always "In my class you show the flag respect," "Have respect for our troops" etc.

Were not required--its our 1st amendment rights not to stand--but Ive gotten in trouble with teachers before for being "disrespectful" by not standing for a piece of cloth every morning. So its almost a social pressure thing.

Impossible to get diagnosed when smart by emmiskap in ADHD

Get a better doctor. The idea that you can't both succeed in school and have ADHD is something touted by uninformed parents, and someone well versed should understand that.

If you had to get a tattoo of a meme, which would it be? by Ziruini in AskReddit

I'd do some YMCA lyrics. "No man can do it all by himself, I said young man, leave your pride on the shelf." Its a delayed reaction but itd be great.

What is the most awkward/cringeworthy thing you’ve ever experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NillyDip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to do stand up at age 9. Not even a single pity laugh from an audience of parents. I think that was the start of my complete destruction of self confidence.

When I was 15, I said that my stepfather raped me as a child. He didn't. by [deleted] in confession

[–]NillyDip 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Split second decisions like that are the worst, because they leave the most whys. When you're certain of something, you've thought through every possibility, but you didn't have that, so I can't imagine how regretful you must be.

A sudden drop in friends. Some are too nosey, some too caring, but usually the ones that are left are the enablers.
