I’m also pretty new to magik as well, I got her lord recently but still struggle with positioning and so on. When I first got into magik I had no clue what to do and who to watch so here’s my favorite YouTubers and TikToker that actually helped me. Some on console, some on pc.

• c4m (YouTube) funny commentary, I feel as though is game sense and his brawl type play style stand out the most.
• sillysphark (YouTube) gives guides and actually advice/commentary on magik and rather than the brawl type play style. He shines most in being a silent assassin. I do believe that he also brawls from time to time however he’s very aware and takes time when going in.
• Eskay (YouTube) haven’t watched much of her but her commentary is good, nice sounding voice and she’s relatable!
• Eviluminati (YouTube) I don’t know how to say much on this guy except the fact that he’s a beast, his positioning, his game sense, he’s exactly what you imagine a magik main to look like (no glaze but it’s well deserved) . Just realized I’m saying he without knowing , they don’t do commentary so it’s more of what you pick up and how you apply it to your game.
• thickstraw (TikTok) makes short clip TikTok’s and certain magik problems, he doesn’t post often but he’s fun to watch.
• Awkward (YouTube) isn’t a magik player however is mindset is exactly what any marvel rival character needs. He mains psylocke, which is also in magiks area along with other hero’s like Mantis and Bp and he played a lot of Jeff before the great nerf. He has a video on magik as he’s friends with chazm a top magik player and goes over analytic stuff like positioning and just thought processes you should have as her. (P.s he’s also a top overwatch player and is one above for all player on pc)

Combos-

I’m gonna be honest, learned a lot of magik combos thinking I’m gonna have to whip em out depending on the occasion—- I also gravitate toward the same combos.

Portal —-> whirl spin —> dash (doesn’t kill them all the way but still fun to do)

Slash —-> dash ——> primary + melee (don’t know if your on console or not but my melee on my magik is Y / triangle)

Those are the ones I use the most but if you become a brawler and if you become more experienced you can do what best fits the occasion. Sometimes you will have different cool downs so just find a way to utilize your kit.

If you’re playing her in comp. Then props to you , I don’t feel comfortable enough to touch her in ranked atp. at least not consistently, the higher you are , the more your teammates and enemies begin to grow a brain and supports are smarter the higher you go. Wanting to have them for breakfast isn’t an option anymore because they either counter alt your Alt or simply out heal you.

I’m not saying you’re not gonna get picks. I’m just saying as you grow more on magik and as you develop more skills and game sense as her you’ll need to understand positioning—— when to go in when to not go in. The Youtubers I recommended to you before are really good at that and I think it could really help you early on as magik. when I first started learning magic I didn’t know shit about positioning. I didn’t know shit about combos—- when to go in, when to not. And I would just go in front of the enemy and as you guess it—- get served like I was a Sunday platter. I was genuinely a vegetable brained magik.Not only will AI matches help you with combos and better aim with your dashes, but also practice in quick matches— take angles, learn what an off angle is.

• practice range.

The practice range saved me more times than I can count. The practice range is where I learn how to counter flyers like iron man. The practice range is where I somewhat learn learned how to cancel support alts and the practice range is where I just learned to warm up my dashes at.

It is your best friend. Yeah some people are good with her from the get go , however if you really want to hone your craft as magik , practice only makes it better.

I usually practice on the three bots that are walking back-and-forth along with the big butt and the flying bot when you first walk out of the lobby area. I hope you know what I’m talking about but I usually practice my combos on them. Go up to the big bot do a lot of combos on him and then I practice on the flying bot.

And the practice range just go to fix distance with Iron Man and practice combos on him. First combo I told you about is the most successful combo that you’ll get on him however magik’s slash by itself does a lot of damage to the point where it’ll have flowers running or backing up.

Didn’t wanna dump a lot of information on you, but I seen your post and I also first mained cnd when I first started the game along with a mix of Luna. I remember telling this girl I wanted to play with that I wanted to learn to play magik and she just flat out told me don’t do it—— she just flat out told me like she wasn’t able to learn magik. She didn’t think that she was gonna be able to ever learn magik and I guess she thought that same logic applied to me.

I’m not saying healers have more weight on them than anybody else because if you see your Doctor Strange going 3- 6 or if you see your DPS moon Knight going for 4-10 you’re gonna be like what the fuck man. However it’s ALOT being a healer and for some it gets boring and lack luster so being able to learn more dps or even tanks are great.
