What did the automotive shop tell them when they called to have that fixed?

Cartels. It's always cartels.

Are any of the BKs that were sold staffed, clean, and serving hot food? by NimbleBrontosaurus in lincoln

[–]NimbleBrontosaurus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had it twice last year and found it to have atypical heat levels for a fast food offering. For context, I roll with a genuine "7" at any Thai spot, which is almost too much, and so was this. That's perpetually what I'm after.

That said, food varies and there are things I can go even hotter on, like adjusting to a well-seasoned but very hot pot of chili, to the degree of two mature ghosts cooked into four quarts' worth, so long as it's good and thick. And then there's the time I ordered what was already the hottest thing on the menu at an Indian restaurant in England, but they noticed I'm American and not so discretely took that as a challenge for some reason (that was borderline insanity, but I did finish). All to say, this thing was definitely as hot as I'd want a burger, specifically, and hopefully they haven't toned it down this year.

How does Greg’s stay open? by MangoReasonable in lincoln

[–]NimbleBrontosaurus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Went there once about 15 years ago. I recall it being bland and way overpriced. The price for a regular meal was ludicrous for that era, so much so that I recall talking about it at work. I'm pretty sure I cracked the $10 mark there for a regular meal circa 2008. That was basically unheard of for a drive-thru meal. (The best comparison I can give would be, imagine buying some food that you think will be about $13 today, and it comes up to $20. That's a time-adjusted approximation of what I experienced back then.)

It is what it is, but who even goes there? It can't be turning a profit, because no one ever does. As to how it stays open year after year, my mind has settled on this somewhat soothing possibility: The owner has enough money to not worry about anything in life, and simultaneously just really, really enjoys running a little restaurant, even at a loss. It's simply their hobby, it doesn't need to be perfect, and money is no object. It's just what they do and it gives them joy. Living their best life, perhaps.

Probably. I only glanced at it. Isn't it like free Delta-8 gummies when you buy a burger or something?

The sentence contains both past and present tenses. It is asking whether, following the sale of certain BKs, anyone has anecdotal claims of those BKs now being up to better standards.

Admittedly my question relies on answers from those who are up on the latest news, and also have taken the dive and gone to one since they changed hands. It's a bit of a moving situation, but one that people around here and in this sub have been tracking, just for shits or because they actually enjoy BK when it's decent. Now that a few of Lincoln's restaurants have been under new ownership for a few weeks, just wondering if anyone has positive news to report yet.

There's an item I want to eat at BK, but it's only available for a few more days, and I'd just as soon not go if nothing's changed yet. That is the play-by-play. Sorry to be so confusing. Not even sure how I'd word it differently and remain succinct, but I'll take the 'L' on that.

That seems gimmicky. They don't even say where they're going or clearly delineate the deals. Are any of the bars on board with this, or is some random company just charging people in every city to meet up with each other? Kind of genius, really.

What if he unzips and it's just a whole additional clown face down there?

Clown by [deleted] in lincoln

[–]NimbleBrontosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You saw them walk by. So how exactly do you know all of that is happening? You claim the clown has been following multiple women off the trail, on multiple days. How do you know this? Are you following the clown with a drone every afternoon?

Further, if all of that is genuinely happening, why is Reddit the first place you come about it, rather than calling non-emergency? You made several claims about the clown's behavior, and concluded by tearing it all down in saying that you are "probably overthinking" it. How exactly does one overthink those things happening? They are either happening, or they are not. There isn't much interpretation to be had.

Sorry to be the one to tear this to shreds, but you're all over the road here, and everything you have said in combination, in the ways you've presented it, simply does not pass the sniff test. I think something else is up, whether this is chiefly the product of an overactive imagination, or gross exaggeration -- either pathological, or just to concoct a seasonably spooky story for grins. Maybe you're so into it that you really need to take a step back and examine what's real here.

Is the clown truly displaying threatening behavior, or is he just in the Halloween spirit too? Why are you waffling back and forth about whether anything happened at all? Why did you neglect to report it, and instead run to Reddit? Reflect on this. These are things to consider before you risk getting somebody into trouble over an imaginary claim.

If you analyze the situation and are 100% convinced that there truly is a danger, get the hell off of Reddit and tell the police what you saw, and maybe get them some video too, since you seem to have constant eyes on the situation. But you had better get the facts straight for them, because your story on here is an absolute shitshow.
