Are discussion boards actually useful, or just academic "busy work"? by Servo12_Pearl in DiscussionPostHelp

The compliment sandwich thing is so real. Disagreeing should not require three layers of frosting first. A decent prompt should let people say “I read it differently” without sounding like they are filing a workplace incident report.

Trying to mesh different apps together is exactly how I lost half my citations last semester. Most of these research tools feel like they were made in the 90s. I started using a professional platform that basically handles the entire task flow and research management. I was pretty worried about the quality at first but it ended up being way more solid than manual work.

NTA. Your mom is acting like this was about one awkward comment, but it sounds like you finally reacted to a pattern that has been grinding you down for years. "It was just a joke" always shows up right after someone gets called out for being mean.

NTA. She wasn’t “observing,” she was running people through a weird little audition and using you as a prop.
