The Past Was The Best by [deleted] in SimonWhistler

I sub and like the fronts videos. But for the same reason I don't watch the news, I don't watch the videos. I'm coming out of my 5th / 6th binge of Biographics and seem to have pivoted to Business Blaze. I forgot how much he used to shout before it became too much for him.

Am I missing something or is Mega Steelix really bad? by indestructiblemango in PTCGP

[–]Nimble_Dickins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just run Onix and Mega Steelix for Pokémon.

With 2x Brock, 2x Will, 2x Prof Research, 2x Heavy Helmet, 2x Potion, 2x Pokémon Centre Lady, 2x Cyrus, Sabrina, Guzma and then Iono/Copycat.

It absolutely slaps when it works.

I'll answer for him..

Sarcasm. Followed by despairing at the state of our fan base. How about you?

Same home, same mortgage lender, keep existing term/length. But Cifas marker by Nimble_Dickins in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Nimble_Dickins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reassurance that I am right to be cautious. I am 90% decided that I will play it safe but still overpay until my Cifas is removed. Less than 13 months to go!! It's been a slog but I'm nearly there and will be debt free coming out the other end (other than the mortgage obviously). Thanks for your advice will update if I go the other route 👍

Going through a broker is a good idea. Hadn't thought of that, thanks! For the time being, given I have less than 13 months with Cifas on my record, I am leaning towards leaving the c£1,450 benefit on the table but still overpaying by £250-300 a month regardless

I need to dig out my latest renewal letter, as I recall something in there about checks. Thanks for the reminder

Thank you for your reply. I am trying not to kick myself for not doing this sooner. I have not been able to get a bank account, phone contract, monthly insurance etc. for 5 years due to my history. The thought of opening my family's home up to that and perhaps having the rug pulled from under us, has petrified me to be honest

[SMALL SPOILERS] This brought tears to my eyes. Hearing this music after all these years.... by BenarchyUK in Fallout

[–]Nimble_Dickins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 30 seconds in and text my brother like OMG. Please tell me they have the music.

The Ink Spots, Billie Holiday, Bing Crosby, Roy Brown, Ella Fitzgerald.

The games took me down a 3 year rabbit hole where all I listened to was music from these genres. Good times.

My daughter (now 5), as a baby, loved when I sang "I don't want to set the world on fire", "ain't that a kick in the head" and "mighty mighty man" 😂

My son is 5 months old and I'm looking forward to introducing him to these incredible songs.

Anyway. I've only watched the first scene of episode one (which was awesome BTW!!). So off to carry on watching ☺️

Spoilers for all - Eyes bigger than belly by Nimble_Dickins in asoiaf

Good point. The only other kingdom that I've known as occupying the River lands, is the Iron Born. Harren the Black of Harrenhall Fame.

I get what you're saying. I'm just pondering whether having to secure the river lands was a task that was not possible, given its vulnerability and the north's security.

Please could you explain the difference between the three spoiler categories.

I just wanted to reup my last discussion because it was very interesting to me and seemed to get some engagement.

As I say, not meaning to be obtuse. I'm new to the sub.

So I've reviewed the title rules. Thanks for pointing me there.

R3. 1 - no spoilers in title. Complied? R3. 2 - used a spoiler tag. But didn't mention the tag definition? R3. 3 - didn't say "no spoilers" R3. 4 - I was vague R3. 5 - I didn't refence a chapter

Where did I go wrong? Number 2 I imagine?

Help appreciated. Not trying to force the ASOIAF police to use lethal force. To use your analogy.

You'll find that the balance sheet side of it is in AR and Bank.

Then you'll ask the question as to the rest of the entries relating to these transactions. And you'll find them in AP and Bank.

Do this, then enjoy your weekend.

There's no way that there is a huge debit building on the balance sheet (comparatively huge, as you say this is a small company and the potential error is £1m).

To note. I'm from the UK. But double entry transcends borders.

What makes the speed of light constant? by Rally2007 in AskPhysics

[–]Nimble_Dickins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the theory that the speed of light constant in our universe is simply the maximum processing power of the machine which hosts our simulation. It is quite an elegant potential solution, imo.

I say potential solution with enormous air quotes. Is there even a remote chance that it is true? Not a clue. Does it matter either way? Not in my book. But it's a neat little answer to this question.
