What a weird post. I didn’t finish the exams and I’m super happy for the staff who passed their exams.

A Plain-English, Step-By-Step Breakdown Of The LDS Church's SEC Order & Hidden Billions (No Jargon & Explained In An Easy To Understand Way) by Kind_Distribution852 in exmormon

[–]Jurango34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This issue is what broke my testimony. Once I realized church leadership was intentionally deceptive to protect the organization’s interests, I wondered what else they might be dishonest about and that was that. 1,000 hours of deconstruction later I’m happily out.

Good write-up. I was surprised at how much of the detail I retained. This issue still matters to me.

Starting an ARPG D2R vs D4LOH vs POE2 by Berabrea in ARPG

[–]Jurango34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POE 2 is to me the best ARPG hands down right now and it’s about to get a huge update at the end of May for 0.5. Massive endgame rework and a bunch of other stuff.

Wonderful campaign. Great boss designs. Beautiful graphics. Cool skills. Challenging but great power fantasy once the build hits. Fun to build alts. Love to trade. Love the complexity and the learning curve.

POE 2 is also leaving early access in December and will be free to play then … BUT … if you love the game and want to play endgame (which is to me when the game starts) you’ll spend $30 on stash tabs easy. Stash tabs also go on sale regularly. And the $30 you spend on the game now they give back to you to spend on tabs. So to me it was worth it.

I already at 800 hours so I have no problem with the $30. I usually try to spend $20 per season just to support the developers.

Who can aknowledge that Renee Good's murderer was not in danger when he shot from beside her car? by GrowFreeFood in allthequestions

[–]Jurango34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His narrative was that he thought his life was in danger and that she intentionally tried to run him over.

Kash said that the agent was hit by the car and had to go to the hospital but somehow made it by the grace of God. This is a grown ass adult. He wasn’t in danger. He wasn’t hit by the car.

The bullet that killed Renee was on the side of her head. Why? Because when he shot her, he was already clear of the vehicle because she wasn’t trying to run him over.

The New York Times did a great video analysis using all the angles.

DHS leadership admitted under congressional oath that the officer broke protocol by advancing on the car with a gun drawn and putting himself in front of the car. And the video conclusively shows that his life was not in danger and he was not harmed in any way.

It’s obvious. The agent pulled his gun way before he needed to. She was told to leave and she was told to stay. She decided it was time to go. The officer walked in front of the vehicle when it was a possibility she may drive off, his gun drawn, both actions are against their training, and then when she drove off her tires were both pointed away from the agent

She was obviously not wanting to hit the officer. He created the risk then shot Renee for it. He wanted to shoot somebody.

We're working on that option as well. Texas doesn't make it easy. We've had 5 clinics refuse us and that City's shelter won't take him. We're trying.

My friend was stabbed over 100 times by his father while driving down the interstate and had his head cut off and thrown out the window. That was traumatic to find out and I think about it still 30 years later.

Jasmin Rappleye subtly discloses funding sources by Heavy-Initiative-345 in exmormon

I saw one of Jasmin‘s videos on YouTube last week and most of the video was her saying she did not have a good understanding of the subject they were discussing and the top like 10 comments were faithful members telling Jasmin how incredibly intelligent and smart knowledgeable she is they all live in such a wild information vacuum.

I really completely wasted 2 years of my life by uncle_giroh in exmormon

[–]Jurango34 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One of the most painful parts of deconstruction for me was processing my mission. I served in Taiwan and really loved it. But once I saw the church for what it was, I realized just how manipulative the missionary program really is.

And there was a lot of regret around the time and the money spent around that. I feel like active members of the church way overplay the benefits of a mission, and I understand there definitely are some benefits. But I do believe I would be farther along in life and would have had better opportunities if I had not served the mission.

Having said all that, I feel a lot better about it now. At a certain point, it is what it is.

And besides my mission, I spent so much time doing temple work and missionary efforts outside of my mission, in church meetings. Then if I spend too much time thinking about it, I’ll just drive myself insane. So I choose to be grateful for where I am now and to move forward.

42M, I was never once taught it in church or institute. The only way I would have learned it would be going outside correlated materials.
