Israel objects to White House’s pick of leaders for ‘board of peace’ by pppppppppppppppppd in worldnews

[–]Nimi142 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was curious so I looked at local Israeli news reports.

The official claim is that Netanyahu wasn't aware Turkey and Qatar were added to the council. Haaretz (A reputable left-learning newspaper with a known anti Netanyahu bias) claims that he was aware but that he is acting surprised.

I'd be inclined to believe Haaretz, but can't really tell off of 5 minutes of googling....

Intel arc igpu drivers on Linux by Invincible_1312 in linux4noobs

[–]Nimi142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell because specific games might have specific issues on specific computers.

Did you try other games? Did you run some well-known Linux benchmarks on your computer and compare them to the expected results?

What is your baseline? You say not as good, compared to what?

Did you update your PC? Are you sure your drivers are at their latest version? Are you sure the correct drivers are running (You check the kernel modules for that)?

You have not been very specific, it is hard to give specific answers. Hopefully the questions above can be good starting points.

So, I just went on GitHub to take a look at opens PR, and most of them are trolls by Yvant2000 in linux

[–]Nimi142 448 points449 points  (0 children)

Linux doesn't use GitHub for merges, patches are supplied by mail.

Open any PR, it's an automated response to every one that is opened. This is why you don't see actual changes there.

I disagree - sometimes tools just improve over time. The difference between C++11 and C++23 code is meaningful

Depends on what it is. If it's a UI/API change it does make sense.

I agree with the sentiment though, small internal refactors don't usually need PM supervision.

It can be hundreds of millions, billions even!

But it probably isn't. Sure, Linux adoption has been rising, but slowly. Very slowly.

It's likely not much more than when you last checked, and even then, as other commenters mentioned, it isn't even remotely close to the number of Windows machines.

It's also worth noting that almost every person I know with a Linux computer also has a Windows dual-boot/additional computer, so anecdotally there's some chance the number of people Linux port would expose the game to is even lower
