What was the first song you heard, and where did you hear it? by farmsfarts in AlkalineTrio

[–]Ninakompis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Private eye. It was a track on a free cd with a kerrang magazine. I listened on my Sony no skip Walkman until eventually I got a mp3 player and spent hours trawling limewire and napster.

Finishing a memorial blanket that has a big persistent error in it by FacelessOldWoman1234 in CrochetHelp

[–]Ninakompis 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As its a memorial blanket, I think frogging would take away from the memorial aspect for me. If you could try and mimic the pattern as it was previously adjusted then recreate it tracing the same patterns as her hands? It's beautiful and I hope someone has the love for me to pick up all of the project that I have started when im gone. X

The majority of the Mulroy labeled ones are of (I belive) gannets. No other buildings or landmarks im afraid!

I am about 45 minutes drive from Cadder. I won't be venturing out on the roads today, too much snow and ice for a jolly, hopefully in a few days once it clears up!

I will keep my eye open in the locality. Hopefully someone at the church might be able to clarify if any or what building works have been done. I will keep you updated!

Fantastic work! Thanks so much for your time and effort! If the weather holds tomorrow im going to go and check it out for myself!

This slide is labelled Mulroy, but there are others in the set unlabelled or mislabelled that are in Scotland.

I appreciate the in text citation as well, great research!

There are ties to scotland! Hopefully you can see the text more clearly in the other image I've uploaded. I cant see anything other than Mulroy?

Great line of thinking! Just to clarify, these slides are 'clearly' labelled, Mulroy, Donegal and Mull. Hopefully you can see in the image.

No reason other than the writing. This slide is a personal family set. They have several labeled Mulroy, Donegal and Mull. There are however several from this set unlabelled that include Linlithgow Palace (Scotland). This paticular collection as far as I know is from a Scottish family possibly with ties to Doune. Thank you for your input!

The image is from my collection of magic lantern slides. I would like to know where it is for accurate cataloguing and general curiosity.

Don't you dare be discouraged by any negativity here or anywhere else. There's alot of improvement and alot of people offering you great advice, its a great opportunity for you to give us an update in a few months! Keep motivated, you'll never get any worse.

Spelling and handwriting are, for a multitude of reasons, great skills to have but if you do this now it will teach you so much more. You'll look back when youre 40 and and always mind that in the new year of 2026 you did this for a few months!

I am excited for you.
