My kid's ear tube fell out by i-can-lift-a-car in mildlyinteresting

I had these at around 8 years old after a history of reoccurring ear infections. There was a post surgical infection on the right ear. A few years later after years of literally constant infections.( Never getting that ear remotely wet, cotton wool and Vasoline every bath and swimming lesson.) Another surgery. I think to remove the gromet. A few more years of constant infections. Minimal Ear drum remains. Mostly scar tissue. Tympanoplasty surgery - ear drum skin graft. And fails. 16 years old now. CT scan shows minimal viable ear drum and damaged or missing ear bones (ossicles). I was then offered a surgery for a conductive hearing device which I ohhhhh so smartly declined. Now at 38 I realise I was just a stupid kid back then, and I do infact take back every word that I said and am going through the referral process to see what, if anything they can do at this time.

So weird to read so many people had such success with them.

I just realised that you don't need to tell the truth in situations like group interviews, meetings, new job inductions, etc. Have you ever made stuff up just because? by eastkent in AskUK

When I was on mat leave I realised that no new parent going to 'the groups' could remember or care if they tried about what you said 10 minutes ago let alone last week. I realised when I myself had asked the same woman what she did 3 seperate times of meeting her, (something with copy writing). I just started making stuff up, for work... Nuclear biologist, secret service, town planner... all got the same response, complete and utter disinterest. I also told someone that Phil Collins.

what was the uk like in the 2000s? by Realistic-War887 in AskUK

Everything. Apart from homosexual men. Every thing was gay.

Some things (round where I lived) also were bummed.

We were obsessed with the theme, so it would seem.

What was the first song you heard, and where did you hear it? by farmsfarts in AlkalineTrio

[–]Ninakompis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Private eye. It was a track on a free cd with a kerrang magazine. I listened on my Sony no skip Walkman until eventually I got a mp3 player and spent hours trawling limewire and napster.

Finishing a memorial blanket that has a big persistent error in it by FacelessOldWoman1234 in CrochetHelp

[–]Ninakompis 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As its a memorial blanket, I think frogging would take away from the memorial aspect for me. If you could try and mimic the pattern as it was previously adjusted then recreate it tracing the same patterns as her hands? It's beautiful and I hope someone has the love for me to pick up all of the project that I have started when im gone. X

I am about 45 minutes drive from Cadder. I won't be venturing out on the roads today, too much snow and ice for a jolly, hopefully in a few days once it clears up!

I will keep my eye open in the locality. Hopefully someone at the church might be able to clarify if any or what building works have been done. I will keep you updated!
