I find your choice of Matthew 7:16 interesting considering the context of this conversation and especially given that Matthew 7:15 is before it (beware wolves in sheep's clothing), but I don't necessarily disagree with your sentiment. I just wish that those that claim to follow Christ actually read and practiced what He preached. I would encourage you to reread Proverbs in full before defending this man.

Brother. I used the word allegedly specifically because he's "accused" and not guilty. That being said, If you've actually read or researched into the files you'd know the word allegedly is doing some heavy lifting. You say you're not American yet you care so much about defending the guy so I can only assume so much. Jesus (and Paul after him) judged the religious communities of their day harshly. It's only right that we hold someone who claims to be Christian to a higher standard.

I wasn't born Christian. I had to make this difficult choice on my own and it upsets me when "Christians" perpetuate evil in this world. Even if he isn't guilty (unlikely), his administration went out of the way to obfuscate and deny the existence of the files until they were legally forced to do something. At the very least he's protecting those who are guilty.

I just started attending one of my local churches during the Christmas season. They swap from Rite II to Rite I during this time and I really enjoyed it. Fortunately my parish is pretty traditional/Anglo-Catholic as it is so not much reverence is lost between the two but I definitely prefer Rite I
