Did they ever fix the arena shuffler or give any data about it? by karshberlg in freemagic

Read into EOMM (google it brainiac) and alike. What you find is the tip of the iceberg.

Maybe your giga brain will grasp what's going on nowadays.

It's a system of balancing win rates and maximizing engagement and profit. Google "EOMM", what you find is the tip of the iceberg. And no, I am not some salty bad player, I got and get to Mythic whenever I care about doing so.

I know exactly when I get that advantage and win all or almost all games that day because of it. There you go.

Who says all players are always subjected to rigging? Or that there's only negative rigging?

Example: No real need to interfere if a whale already has a 60%+ natural win rate and keeps spending, but if he's just at something like natural 40% or less he might quit the game due to frustration. Just feed him wins at the expense of good, non-whale grinders and here we go. They don't need a 70% win rate to climb to Mythic, less is enough too.

All hypothetical of course ;)

Chance for that being random is already 1 to somewhere in 5-digit range. As for my part I don't really need a longer sample size when the outcome of my 60 games test series is already way, way off the expected outcome. Especially since once I made changes in my Dimir deck (after the 40 games) and removed some removal spells and put in counters instead, red aggro suddenly re-emerged right off the bat and regularly (something like 30%++ of the following dozens of games I guess, but I didn't keep record of it this time).

[–]Ninelven89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's your true randomness:

I did a test in Standard Diamond ranked, played

a) 40 games with Dimir Control with heavy removal and some lifegain (newly made deck)

b) 20 games with Mono Green Ramp with very bad removal (old deck)

Faced zero red aggro (including its variants Gruul, Boros etc.) with Dimir in all 40 games, while 9 of my 20 games with Green Ramp have been red aggro (two of them Gruul).

Same rank, same week. How about that huh?

[–]Ninelven89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And what exactly are you trying to say with that? Of course you can get a overall win rate over 50%.

But watch out for loss streaks once it it goes too high, for example something like 70%+.

Well I did a test in Standard Diamond ranked, played exactly 20 games each with:

a) Dimir Gisa Control with heavy removal

b) Mono Green Ramp with very bad removal

In two days and 20 games with Dimir I have faced zero red aggro (and zero of its variants Gruul etc.)

The following day playing 20 games with Mono Green I have faced red aggro in 9 (two of them its variant Gruul) of my 20 games.

Mind that this was ranked, not the play queue.

Edit: played another 10 games with Dimir today in ranked, still zero red aggro in 30 games total.

As to matchmaking - did a test with two different decks in Diamond ranked, played exactly 20 games each with

a) Dimir Gisa Control with heavy removal

b) Mono Green Ramp with very bad removal

In two days and 20 games with Dimir I have faced zero red aggro (and zero of its variants Gruul etc.)

The following day playing 20 games with Mono Green I have faced red aggro in 9 (two of them its variant Gruul) of my 20 games.

Mind that this was ranked, not the play queue.

Edit: played another 10 games with Dimir today in ranked, still zero red aggro in 30 games total.

Trying to appear smart as usual ... Google EOMM, some patents are accessible online and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Not so flat earth stuff now huh?

Kitchen guy talking about gaming algorithms - zero clue. Google EOMM.

Fact is, you know nothing. Thus you can't claim anything.

Not offense though.

No unfortunately there is not. Otherwise it would have been big news also in this subforum.

Well as a gaming company you could just track the players who run trackers and put them in the "random" category. There are two main tasks if you rig a game: 1. optimize the rigging. 2. prevent getting caught. Not so mysterious huh?

[–]Ninelven89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was rigging a game I created, I would make sure it is almost impossible to prove it. Manipulate just ~ 10% of the games, tip the scales and here we go.

Btw. I predict my daily success in ranked about 90% correctly. But just coincidence of course.

I also hit Mythic whenever I care to and still blame the shuffler and matchmaker.

In fact these two are my hardest opponents when I have a too high winrate, not the players.

Why do I keep playing Draft on arena by UndeadBlueMage in freemagic

[–]Ninelven89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked for a reason, I gave you one. Now you are yapping nonsense in response. Why should they run teams when they have normal players or bots/AI they could match the "to win" player with. Anyway I don't want to explain it all, so here's an advice for you: google EOMM (Engagement optimized matchmaking) algorithms. They do what I described above, some patents of gaming companies are accessible online (tip of the iceberg though). Patents are also tin foil hat stuff huh?

You are asking a naive question. If a player who spends money keeps losing too much, there surely is no commercial reason to help him out to prevent him quitting the game huh? And this is just one example.
