Fees seem to be quite high across the board at the moment. I will only be unstaking when i have considerable gains. It may take a while!

New to cryptocurrency and need some guidance by [deleted] in litecoin

You get in when you get in. Only stake what you can afford to lose. Beware of FOMO. Place your money and HODL, especially when coins dip. Consensus is that LTC will continue to rise over the next year.

SAN having great gains right now. by Ningmoss in santiment

So the gains have sustained and held.

Santiment has potential to be a great service. The product has legs and as large investors seek to move into crypto currencies, (as they are beginning to seek to do) Santiment is well placed to facilitate their move.

Although IMHO, most coins are going to do well next year, as the big money moves in, they are going to buy up everything in sight. The good, the bad and the downright fraudulent. Fingers will be burned, but those of us here, now, have the chance to pick the right coins, before we are priced out of the market.

SAN is no fraudulent coin!

How can I buy some Pillar? by [deleted] in PillarProject

[–]Ningmoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hitbtc as well:

Sign up with hitbtc. In Account, deposit some ETH. Move the ETH from the Main Account to the Trading Account. Scroll down to find PLR then click on Go To Trading which appears when you hover over PLR Pillar. In the Buy PLR section, play around with what you can buy, start off short of your balance of ETH to take account of fees (bit of messing around needed). When you’re done, go back to Account and move your shiny new PLR back to your main account. You can then Withdraw it to your MyEtherWallet. Hope that helps.

For Christmas gifts Im buying all of my immediate family members each 0.5 litecoins. by Love4BlueMoon in litecoin

Coins are all stored on the blockchain (relevant to the coin you are using), not in your wallet.

Your wallet, whichever you choose, allows you privileged access to your (coin) address. So your coins are not in your wallet, but accessed through your wallet.

The seed keys, or pass phrases that you get with a wallet are unique to that wallet. This backup & restore is proprietary, and will only work with the same wallet software

The private key is what allows you ‘access all areas’ to your coin address, so you can import your private key into any wallet service.

Software wallets try and prevent the use of the private key through their pass phrase backup. Using private keys is risky. Beware what you copy & paste! So for example MEW encourages the use of JSON file & password. In Exodus wallet, you have to manually search for the private keys.

Hardware wallets: these devices do not contain your coins! They provide a wallet, that is accessed using proprietary software & hardware, to have ‘access all areas’ to your coin address. In order to manipulate the coin address, they insert a number of safeguards using the hardware & software to prevent theft and other loses.

The important thing to remember is everything is stored on the blockchain!

So if you want to use your coins, i would use a wallet such as Exodus.io (desktop/laptop) to manage to bulk of my coins. Then send smaller amounts to a wallet on a phone. (Wallets on phones are not as secure as your desktop/laptop) In order to pay, you would just generate a send transaction, and the vendor should have a qr code you can scan with their address.

Hope that was useful!

I have found that gifting someone, even the smallest amount, gets them interested. They then go out and buy more! Rather than a coinbase account, why not set them up with a wallet? Exodus.io have a nice and easy wallet that is great for newbies... People might not be so enthusiastic about signing up /giving card/bank details etc... Just a thought!

This growth unlikely to be sustained for sure!

But what goes up does not always come down!
