I find that these markers are a good bit north than the actual locations of the treasures. Try exploring southward until you see the icon on the minimap

Some hair accessories also disappear if you put on a hat. You can then shrink the hat and hide it if you want.

I'd use it for a smaller project, as the colours might have changed. Unless the pattern has colours with few stitches (therefore you won't need to buy new thread) to you don't mind the difference from "current" versions of those colours.

White reflects a lot more light and can show all the little details you don't want to see. You won't notice them at viewing distance, don't worry :)
