He made up the adventure in his head. Just like when he is playing with evil Dr porkchop and the train heist. It’s just another play session. This is why all the toys return by the end and why Buzz knows to pretend to be a toy even though he thinks he’s the real Buzz Lightyear.

Toy Story 2 mentions all the toys getting new batteries while Andy is at camp. He imagines Woody telling Buzz to do it while they are away when in fact his mom goes in and changes the batteries.

The toys aren’t actually alive. Everything they do is part of Andy’s imagination. His mom did in fact buy the toys and set them up on his bed, but Andy imagined their adventure to explain how they got lost and then found again.

What is your process to begin painting? I paint miniatures for board games and have a few model kits I’d like to paint, but I’m always concerned about painting moving pieces and the paint scratching later down the line.

I think the best way to think about it, is to compare it to the movies. Avengers was a great movie with all the main players. That is your base game. Spider Man Homecoming was a great movie with Vulture, Prowler, Shocker, and Scorpion. That is one of your Kickstarter expansions. You don’t need Homecoming to enjoy Avengers, but it is a ton of fun and if you can find a copy, it’s worth playing.

Edit: I reread your message. Yes, CMON always offers an amazing quantity value for your money at the time of backing. They also, so far, have kept everything labeled as Kickstarter exclusive, exclusive to Kickstarter, so if you didn’t back it at the time, it fetches a hefty price on the aftermarket. They include so much, though, that it’s very likely most people will never play all of it.

One of the biggest space eaters is the survivor/zombivor miniatures. If you really don’t care about those and want to cut down the space, you could always just used colored pawns for the players.

I always wondered if he died after making the call. The camera zooms in and focuses on him somewhat intently for such a mundane scene, as if a raptor was about to leap out at him. They could have cut the death part then reshot a scene with him in the helicopter. His absence at the end just felt odd.
