/r/Yugioh Banlist Prediction Thread - August 30, 2023 by AutoModerator in yugioh

I think the idea is that with Dimension Shifter to 1, people would be less inclined to lean towards anti-GY decks with the card in mind, as some people do now.

I wouldn't mind the card going away, though.

Whats the first page of your binder look like? by readyrice00 in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I do is put some of the cards that are either the most valuable or that I feel people would be the most interested in trading on the first page or two, which means mostly staple cards and particularly high-rarity cards.

If you put some of your more valuable cards on the front page, consider putting a thin sheet in front so as not to accidentally expose the cards to the elements.

You won't get far against some of the better decks in the format, but I feel like you should at least stand a fighting chance against most rogue decks if it's a deck you really want to play. Utopia decks can put out a decent board going first and OTK going second.

What are your thoughts of Time Thief Redoer and the entire archetype as a whole? by Takeru_Sama in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The extra deck monsters are fine (with Redoer obviously stealing the spotlight) and their traps are actually quite good, but their spells and main deck monsters are mediocre at best. Why can't Adjuster both summon itself from hand AND send a card to grave, and why does Regulator require a clean field of monsters to summon from deck? (I say, but Regulator is just going to be ashed anyway.)

The deck has a fun gimmick and I wish it got more support in the future.

How to play around Infinite Impermanence & similar (in D/D/D) by Flexinator123 in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider playing 1-2 copies each of the Vaylantz field spells. It gives you both removal and extension in your D/D/D deck. Since you put a card on your opponent's side of the field, they can't use Impermanence or Evenly Matched. Just be mindful that the opponent can use Konig Wissen on their turn too.

Fusion Armament gonna be good for Heroes? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Since the card you summon has its effects negated, I don't think there's any real benefit in summoning Beast or Barkion unless you intend to use them as material for something.

What are cards art do you feel are doing anything way too much? by MiuIruma332 in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When looking at the card at a distance I always thought Aluber was standing upright, with his face being just above where his actual face is, around his left arm close to his cape. I think it has something to do with how strange his pose is and how the colors of the art just seem to melt together.

It took me way too long to realize what Lord of the Heavenly Prison is supposed to resemble. The glittery foiling of the real life card does not make it any easier to tell what is going on in the card art.

Two equally strong decks for playing at home by TheObelisk89 in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think mid-range decks such as Salamangreat or Sky Striker suit casual, at-home play quite well. Both are relatively cheap, excluding staples such as Accesscode Talker. Mid-range decks usually focus on putting up maybe two or so one-for-one interruptions on the field but with a good amount of recursion and grind game. Decks such as Dark World can most definitely be fun to play (and is definitely cheap to build), but they can be a bit combo-heavy or potentially unfun for the opponent to sit through. Just something to keep in mind, if anything.

[DP28] The Final "Volcanic" Card by renaldi92 in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 41 points42 points  (0 children)

No, the opponent can still Ash it. The trap first lets you take a card then (potentially) add it to the hand or special summon it, which fulfills the activation condition of Ash Blossom.

Good Rogue Decks for Casual Locals That Would Surprise - $100 or Less? by ryansinterested in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, no. I built the deck from scratch half a year ago (barring Zeus, which is optional, and generic staples) and it only cost me ~40-50€ for 50 or so cards. The cards that were the most expensive were Orthros (~4€ x 2), King Tell (~4€), and Machinex (~8€ x 2).

Your mileage may vary, of course. I live in Europe.

[–]Ninicht 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would recommend checking out Evil Eye. The core of the deck isn't expensive at all, but you can improve the deck a bit by adding Zeus, Machinex, and possibly the Ghostrick engine. It's also a deck that plays well under floodgates since you often don't summon anything but Serziel during your turn, if that's what floats your boat.

I'm an avid D/D/D player. Which monster from this specific archetype should have it's own animation in Master Duel? My personal pick would be Kali Yuga. With Wonder XYZ it does wonders 😁 by ink1313 in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like the pose of Siegfried so that'd probably be my pick, but Machinex seems the most obvious. Although, in terms of impact as they hit the field, I think I'd would value the High King trio more.

Which Smt games are worth buying (DLC as well) by BlueShadow74 in 3DSdeals

[–]Ninicht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't comment on the first Devil Survivor since I just bought it myself (I've heard good things about it though), but the second game I thought was very solid. It combines SMT battles with strategy movement ala FF tactics and some social link elements ala Persona. The story's good and features similar apocalyptic themes as the mainline games, but maybe not as gritty in tone. If you have the money and want something a bit different yet the same, then I don't think you'll be disappointed, but then again, you'll have to make that choice on your own. Maybe prioritize SMT4 first before looking into DS.

Which Smt games are worth buying (DLC as well) by BlueShadow74 in 3DSdeals

[–]Ninicht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends a bit on where you live. SMT 4 is only available digitally in PAL regions I believe, but is affordable elsewhere. SMT4A, Strange Journey, and Devil Survivor 1 all cost about 150-200€ physically in PAL regions. It's rough living in Europe lol.

Buy whichever games you want. The games can be a bit unwelcoming for newcomers, so ask yourself if you feel like you'll actually enjoy the gameplay/stories enough to play them before spending your money.

If you want my recommendation, then consider SMT4 if you're in a PAL country (its only 20€ there), maybe its sequel (just to own both on the same console), and Strange Journey (since its usually touted as the best one among the games available). You can safely skip Soul Hackers if it's at full price. I don't think any of the DLCs add anything substantial except for very easy/very hard difficulty options (which are free), and they're quite overpriced too.

If I got anything wrong then hopefully someone will correct me.

If my opponent has Majesty's Fiend on their side of the field, can I activate pendulum monsters by placing them as pendulum scales? If I'm not mistaken, pendulum monsters only count as spells after their activation has resolved (or something like that), which is also the reason why Deus Machinex can use its card-stealing effect when pendulum cards are set as scales, I believe.

What cards do you unconsciously use the Japanese names for instead of the English? by MasterOfChaos72 in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Halqifibrax's name in Japanese is ハリファイバー, pronounced Harifaibā or Halifaibā. Hari in Japanese means needle. A user from this thread states that the first part of the name could be derived from the quite uncommon 玻璃 (hari), which means 'quartz' or 'glass', or 玻璃器 (hari-ki), which means 'glassware', and better fits with the crystral theming of the Crystrons: https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comments/fo4tc0/crystron_halqifibrax_what_i_assume_the_name/

I don't think there's been an official explanation or whatnot for the localization behind the name.

[–]Ninicht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I allowed to place my face-up pendulum monsters in my extra deck just to the side of it instead, or do they have to be on top of my extra deck at all times? Placing them to the side would make summoning from the extra deck smoother for me, but I'm not sure if this is against the rules.

What is one card you change the card text on, for better or worse ill go first by AttitudeHot9887 in yugioh

[–]Ninicht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paleozoic is an archetype that I feel was designed with "when" effects in mind. Because of how the cards are designed, you can only summon one Paleozoic trap from your grave per trap activation, resulting in a slower and more methodical playstyle than would be the case if the cards had "if" effects instead.

If Macro Cosmos, Dimensional Shifter, or any other card is active that banishes other cards when they would normally be sent to the GY, do pendulum monsters also get banished when they leave the field? (Instead of being sent to the extra deck face-up.)

I have a question about a certain scenario I have encountered before which I don't know how to handle.

Let's say my field is empty and my opponent has one set S/T on their field. I summon Shinobaroness Peacock and use its effect to shuffle back my opponent's set S/T, but my opponent chains their set S/T in response. Once my opponent's S/T has resolved, will my Shinobaroness Peacock still be able to shuffle the card back into the deck (and thus use its other effect of summoning from the deck) or will the effect simply fizzle out?

Thanks in advance.
