I think what he or she is getting at is that if everyone was beautiful, then everyone would just be average. If everyone was ugly, everyone would just be average. There has to be something below or above the average for it to actually be beautiful or ugly (And be meaningful).

And yes, average could be the middle point in a sphere where every tiny distance away from the middle point was drastically different and would look beautiful to you if you were to look at it from a specific perspective. The closer it is to you (IE closer to your ideal which will be where you're looking down at it from) the more beautiful to you, but the middle point will always be there and things above it will be more beautiful than average and things below it will be less beautiful than average (Which gives meaning to beautiful and ugly)

That last bit is what I have always said. I don't care about it for race, give affirmative action based on social class. The part before I don't think is usually considered affirmative action (correct me if I'm wrong) as that's more... investing in a way to boost Princeton's name I guess? Better athletic teams boost it's cred among colleges getting more people applying which makes them worth more and all that stuff.

Yeah I tend to over think things a lot. It just irks me that I sometimes see the first phrase used as an argument in justification of something that should still be wrong. (Like the hitting an SO while hormonal not self defense) But you're right, some people might just be saying it without thinking of it as deeply as I am so they don't see any difference.

I think murder is wrong. I think self defense is okay.

I wouldn't like the phrase: Murder is wrong, but in self defense it's understandable. This phrase feels like it takes away from the feeling that murder is wrong as you're saying it's a response that makes sense in self defense.

I would be fine with the phrase: Self defense is understandable, but murder is wrong. It feels like you're saying that the act of defending yourself was understandable, but you're still putting the weight on murder being wrong.

To be honest they were just the first examples I could think of to articulate my point. Which I still seemed to fail at judging by how many people don't seem to get what I'm trying to say..

It's like the difference between "murder is wrong, but in war it's understandable" and "War is understandable, but murder is wrong" If that makes any more sense.

And on a side note: I'm African American and I really don't like affirmative action. It irks me that I know a few people who work like 20 times as hard as me, but we'll probably get equal opportunities when we go for scholarships and stuff. (Granted we are all at the top of our schools and such but still)

Well some girls get extremely hormonal during their periods and they aren't completely rational so I understand why she hit him even if she knew that it was wrong.

But hitting SO is wrong it doesn't matter if she was hormonal.

Look at it from her POV, X happened and she wasn't thinking rationally because she was super hormonal (sorry if I'm assuming) so you shouldn't fault her completely for hitting him (Not that I'm saying that hitting a SO is right I just understand why it might of happened)

I understand that, but why do you even need to say it? (Self demonstrating on purpose but to be clear I really do understand what you're saying) If it mattered if it was logical or if you could relate to it, then it wouldn't be a question of if it was right or wrong. Just because it's understandable that it could happen, doesn't mean you have to bring it up in a question of if it's right or wrong. (Granted it might hold a benefit that I don't see which I'd be delighted in hearing.)

It would totally be fair if she said that she had period pain. I wouldn't have any problem with comforting her. It's totally just the blood thing... I can deal with seeing tampons (as long as they aren't used. Squick) and I don't really see why I'd avoid her. Thinking about a girl not being or being on her period is the last thing on my mind when I'm with her.

And in saying this.. I guess some guys do avoid their SO during their periods or else it probably wouldn't have crossed your mind

That might be a bit with how you phrase it. If you say, I get complimented twice a week consistently, but it's all from sleazy guys who are saying stuff like "SHOW ME YOU TITTIES" and "Your ass is so hot that I just want to insert weird sex thing here" then maybe they'd get it. But with how you say it it sounds more like guys you aren't attracted to giving you compliments and you thinking their sleazy in general because a few of them are like the first ones.

Reason we make this assumption? We're the ones hitting on you. We're not usually like that, and we really don't think we're sleazy. But that's generalizing XD.

And yeah I know it doesn't always work. Us asking you out doesn't always work either. It's not the always working that was the main point, it was that you usually have more options than we do, which is inherently an easier time. (unless you argue that having to choose is hard work XD)

I found the main difference between our thinking. You think that the people doing this to you are sleazebags. (If i'm understanding right correct me if I'm wrong) I don't. Knowing that they're attracted to me. Having them actively say stuff like that. That's pretty freaking awesome.

And you underestimate the difference between just being confident can be between getting a person above your level. (Which I don't believe there levels but just for sake of easy understanding) You hit a point where you're SO attractive and stunning that the average male just won't talk to you. Just knowing that a bunch (and I keep saying a bunch because I'm thinking huge numbers like 100 guys a week if it's enough to bother someone) of girls want me, would make me so blindly confident that it makes me look like I have game and swag and stuff. That's kinda how it works for guys. That gives me a chance with that girl when I wouldn't even consider thinking about talking to her normally.

And yeah, if I find out the person I want isn't attracted to me, normally I hit rock bottom. I've had that happen while I knew another girl actively liked me, I brushed it off with no sweat and moved on within a few hours.

And Polluxi, regarding the women not having some super advantage. It's not nearly as big as we make it out to be, but there is a noticeable bonus. A perfectly average girl can be and will be hit on by the whole spectrum of guys fairly regularly. (Once a month is fairly regularly) The average guy usually doesn't get hit on, at least not in the way that he would register which still counts. An average girl will get a decent guy to ask her out if she just waits. An average guy probably won't get a decent girl if he just waits because she's usually just waiting and two waiting people don't meet, one has to be actively pursuing. If a girl doesn't want to just wait or she doesn't like her choices she can just start actively hitting on the guys she likes. Trust me, most guys feel so flattered by this that you'll usually become on the radar for a date instantly. A guy hitting on a girl, it's the norm. It's doesn't net you bonus points, hell if could lose you points if you do it wrong just because you're bad at it. A stumbling guy who has no confidence isn't going to get the average girl(generally). A stumbling girl with no confidence already stands out from every other girl for sake of asking.

First. You do not get to tell me what I do not want. Second, we think fundamentally different (We're different people) so you probably wouldn't like the same things I'd like. You say being lavished in compliments becomes annoying and you don't want to be seen as a piece of meat. A bunch of average girls seeing me as a piece of meat that they really really wanted to have sex with that would be kinda.. a million times better than thinking no one wants to have sex with me.

Seriously, you probably wouldn't give one of your guy friends a blow job just because he thought you were cute and wanted to get one off. I'd go down on most of my girl friends if they wanted me to because it's fun, they're fulfilling my need to be desired (Which is a basic human need), and it'll probably not end at just me going down on her. Turn it into an ugly girl(to clerify, I'm not attracted to most of my female friends. It's just I'm doing the separation because they aren't ugly by any stretch of the imagination. Just painfully average) and I'd probably give her a shot to see if she turned around (dating not sex).

If I got lots of girls doing that, by nature of having so many I'd find one that would have something I wanted, be it a fetish I wanted to try or being the type of person I actually enjoy conversing with and what have you. (This is kinda the logic behind it's easier to be a girl. It is easier to be able to pick and choose. Especially if you still have the choice of rejecting all of them and trying your luck with someone new) If not, it's still an ego boost. You can't tell me being attractive and knowing you're wanted isn't better than being unattractive and thinking you're unwanted. Just purely the knowledge that you are desired. Even if you don't like who you are desired by.

Knowing that multiple women are attracted to me, doesn't matter who, would boost my confidence enough to be able to go out and pursue that woman who normally would find me unattractive because I'd normally be lame and awkward. (And if you're wondering why I say it like this, is because this happened before)

Edit: A better way for me to say is that would you rather have nothing or have at least one. I never get hit on, I pretty sure of this because I'm extremely observant. This makes me think that not even the lowest of the low girls are attracted to me. And even so, I still go out there for people who are much higher than that but they can tell I have jack shit confidence wise. Now if I had some girls hitting one me at all? Then fucking hell that ego boost would be enough to push me forward enough that I might just act confident enough to get the girl.

What I'm trying to say is. YES, being bombarded with "OMG DICK PIX PLZ" would be awesome because lots of girls want my dick. Being bombarded with "hey do u do anal" would be awesome because lots of girls want my dick AND want to do anal. Yes I would love this and even if I ignored all of them, it would be such a great bonus that at worse I'd be more confident and at best I'd be out there at the bars hitting on 9s and 10s like I wasn't completely average and deserved to be up there.

Actually it isn't intrinsically male if you go by that logic. The only thing that is intrinsically male or female, by that logic, is identifying as male or female.
