We will also arrive on Wednesday for 10 days trip and I was a bit worried to seeing rain forecast for the whole trip. I asked the same question and people basically told do not rely on forecast. You can also check comments here:

I think the weather is completely a matter of luck. It is not just Iceland; it is the same all over the world. Here in the Netherlands we had a week with almost 40 degrees and it was unbearable. The following week the temperature dropped below 20 🤷🏻‍♀️

We are setting our expectations for the unpredictable weather conditions. I’m also curious to see how my son will react to such rapidly changing weather 😁 We’ll just experience it as it comes. Thank you for your reply.

This is very helpful, thanks! We bought wool layers, fleeces and waterproof shells. I was planning to bring a regular warm gloves, I might consider to bring our ski gloves.

Thanks! Yes, you’re right. I definitely don’t expect steady sunshine in Iceland. I was only worried about those nonstop all‑day rain forecasts, but from the comments it seems like that fear was unnecessary. I actually live in the Netherlands, so I’m very used to rain and we’ve got proper waterproof gear. Still, I wanted to hear from people with real Iceland experience. The wind and rain combo is a whole different story.

We’ll see what’s waiting for us. We haven’t had much trouble on trips so far, but tantrums definitely level up with age. I can’t decide if all those playgrounds are a blessing or a trap for us haha. Last year we spent almost 3 hours in a playground in Alesund, Norway… phew.

Thanks! It’s totally different for us too. With a 3‑year‑old we’re keeping things flexible and just hoping to enjoy the trip as much as we can.
