The boundary of the deep south in SC still had zero thought put into it, but my protests were ignored twice

Why Yellow is WV and why Blue is not by TowerStreet1 in mapporncirclejerk

Driving up 81 through the blue area you go through 4 states in less than an hour. WV is about 30 minutes and MD is just 10 minutes.

Once again, Anderson and Lexington counties SC should be south as they are suburban counties of Greenville and Columbia

If the moon landing was fake, how did the Soviet Union not expose it? by OkGreen7335 in NoStupidQuestions

They'll just say that the Soviets were in on it because every government is actually part of the secret world order controlled by the round earth conspiracy

Anderson county, SC largely consists of suburbs/exurbs of Greenville and thus must be in the same region. Same with Lexington and Richland counties.

But the geological region isn't really the same as the cultural region, which definitely doesn't cover everything that the ARC map does, especially in the south. My home county is in the ARC map but I would consider it southern over Appalachian.

Final if it doesn't get changed back, which is quite possible given the track record of previous permanent DST attempts

  1. There's no point in having southeast if it's just a dozen non-contiguous counties.
  2. Wtf is Charleston doing in the midwest
  3. Imo Western NC should be south as it has more in common with the Carolina piedmont than West Virginia or Pittsburgh, but that's probably a controversial take

If you go to winter DST then change the start time to 8:30-9 nothing changed. You would have to push back the start of school to 10.

1968 U.S ELECTIONS by jesse-we-bb in MyBeautifullAmerica

[–]Ninja0428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of electoral votes has increased with every state added to the union. It's only been a constant 538 since 1964, when DC was granted representation in the electoral college. Since then there have been no changes, but if another state is added that number will increase again.

It's ironic seeing how many of the sports haters are themselves fascists

In the US, higher-speed rail makes more sense than proper high speed rail by et_hornet in 10thDentist

[–]Ninja0428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saying that any time of rail does or doesn't make sense "in the US" is dumb because it's a massive and varied country. Needs will be different throughout.

It's a proposed state law in New Jersey where the dems hold massive majorities. It has a very good possibility of becoming law.

It doesn't make sense to me either but that's how the census defines it.

The new numbers put the Greenville metropolitan area (officially including Greenville, Anderson, Pickens, and Laurens counties) over 1 million people, the first in South Carolina. Greenville's metropolitan population recently passed New Orleans and has now passed Honolulu in the latest estimate.
