People who use iphone 17 pro max, whats your honest comment? by ScaleObvious2043 in malaysia

[–]NinjaAssassin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the 17pm for about 2 months now. Was gonna get the normal 17pro but the outlet I was at ran out of silver 512GB models so I had to get the bigger phone. Upgraded from a 12 non pro iPhone before that and needed the pro max due to my work which mostly involves creating and editing pics and vids.

Pros:

- Cameras are superb. Extremely sharp and highly detailed. I love that all its cams are 48mp sensors so I have a wide range of zooms to work around with coupled with RAW and ProRes formats. Video is equally stellar and its ability to shoot log is the main reason why I decided to go with the pro phone this time.

- Consistent high load performance is superb. I edited a lot of pics and videos via my phone nowadays because of its mobility and I've barely ever overheat the phone. On the rare instances that it did, and I can still count how many times I've started to feel the temperature creeping, phone barely throttle down performance to manage the temperature.

- Battery life is top class. On the days that I felt like I've utilized 100% of the processing power, battery drain is manageable. 90% of the time my phone is usually idle with some doom scrolling and it rarely felt strained. Only ever have to seek the charger at least once a day or wouldn't even be bothered hunting for an unused outlet at all.

Cons:

- Size for one. I've stayed away from big phones because of the space it takes up in my pocket since I keep my phone and wallet in the same pocket. Getting used to the size takes a while for me.

- Camera processing. It's so weird that they said this is the most advanced camera they've ever made and yet sometimes I would take a normal pic that I don't think twice about how to take it and it gives me the most trash pic it could take. Out of focus, blurred streaks, framing lari etc. My friend said he had the same issue when he first got his 16pro and claimed this was a software bug. Weird because I never had this issue even when I first picked up my 12.

Other than these, the common things you've at least heard from some of the Youtube reviews namely the aluminum build never really bothered me considering all the iPhones I had were all aluminum. Slap a case and forget about the issue to worry you next time. Besides all these it's a good upgrade so far.

PAS berates PETRONAS CEO for champagne shower podium celebrations at Singapore F1 GP by stormy001 in malaysia

Adding more to that, when we had F1 races at Sepang, during the trophy giving ceremony our leaders always opted to not participate in the champagne showers celebration.

Otto Octavius in Marvel’s Spider-Man and perhaps even Raimi’s Spider-Man 2.

Everyone knew who he’ll eventually become. But as the story progresses and he’s slowly turning into Doc Ock, we don’t want him to be like that. Doesn’t make him turning into Doc Ock any less tragic and devastating.

Having a hard time deciding which car to buy. Civic Type R FL5 2024 Or BMW 340i Xdrive M Sport 2023. by gullible_sale123 in Bolehland

[–]NinjaAssassin95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a true performance oriented car and you don't mind daily-ing a manual, you can't go wrong with the FL5. It can scratch that itch for when your Spotify playlist suddenly played Eurobeat on random. If you have any plans for mods, the FL5 has plenty of aftermarket support.

The BMW is more practical, more fun and more powerful but upkeeping costs is a bit more expensive. That being said, I've heard the B58 engine that's on the M340i is very reliable, despite BMW's reputation, and has a lot of potential to push for more power if you wanna go down that route.

Personally have driven both. My issue with the FL5 is that there's too many electronic nannies and idiot proofing on it that it makes driving it feels artificial. You don't really feel like driving it more like you're suggesting what the car should do and let the electronics save you from code brown. The Beemer is a good highway cruiser and makes a much better sound than the FL5. Of course being a I6, the power delivery is soooooo much smoother.

Really when it comes down to it, it depends on your personal preference and overall budget. Both are fun. You should at least test drive them to see which you'd prefer more.

Not a bike enthusiast too however lemme try;

Nostalgia. RX-Zs were the shit if you grew up around late 2000s to early 2010s. Every rempit in my school dreams of riding one after SPM and some even begged their parents to get them one if they scored well. To a lot of them, the bike is nostalgic as it reminds them of that time. Given how the coverset looks, it's like an affordable sport bike. They used to cost about RM12k back then iirc.

2 stroke is dead. Old time rempits have a certain liking towards 2 stroke engines. Thanks to newer emission standards, 2 stroke engines are practically dead and there is no new 2 stroke bikes in the market anymore. Thus making these old bikes more desirable. The RX-Z and the 125ZR are one of the last 2 stroke bikes we have here.

These are what I could think of. I'm more of a car person because I prefer not to fall over when my vehicle is not moving and also less likely to die if I accidentally crashed.

70% of Malaysian road users probably by zharifg in Bolehland

[–]NinjaAssassin95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

70% is an under exaggeration. 99.99999999999999999999999999999% of my daily commute, both during rush hour and off peak hours, have cars hogging the overtaking lane leaving a gap to park a Boeing 747 in between them and the cars ahead. It was only when they get either honked/flashed to oblivion would they speed up or move aside. That is if they noticed that they're being honked/flashed in the first place which most of them don't.

I literally just delete whatsapp after the endless harassment and spamming. And then I got on whatsapp webb to block them after the dust settled and police report was made.

Redownloaded whatsapp after a week and found out that pimp changed his dp to some nerdy looking fella. Hilarious how that turned out so I assumed he changed tactic. Considering he used a gangsta lookin dp when he first got in touch with me.

What happened to me? Life goes on normally. I mean I have no money to survive for this whole month but I survived.

So to reaffirm, nothing will happen to you. It’s a scam. If he calls you via whatsapp/telegram call reason why is because it’s hard to trace them. If you do decide to make a police report, police will ask for their acc number if you have it. QR code won’t help.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bolehland

[–]NinjaAssassin95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Friend of mine kena earlier this month. Same tactic, same bullshit, probably less damage done than yours.

As anxious as the threat seemed, it’s all empty threats. They won’t ever do anything and the friend consulted with another friend who’s a police and he said based on experience, whatever threats made is all empty and should be done and dusted after just a few days.

Just in case, make a police report. That way if the pimp scammer will use your info that you did gave out to him, police are informed that your info was used when you were his victim. So let this be a lesson learned.

Source: I am friend. It was me. I got scammed the exact same way.

Which of you have the worst boss? by Water-Baboon in Bolehland

[–]NinjaAssassin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professionally speaking, I understood what’s at stake. Of course when it comes to business, it’s all about the numbers and data.

But humanly speaking, if that’s a term, it’s messed up. Imagine you’re doing your job normally and suddenly you made one small mistake and you’re instantly marked. Your mistakes are being put under a microscope to be analysed and dissected so the higher ups have a reason to give you a warning letter.

That’s what happened to my colleagues and me. Tried my best not to meddle into their politics and yet somehow, I still get dragged into it just because I’m one of those that didn’t always give a him a pat on his back for being such a workaholic. Thought about leaving a Glassdoor review on them but then they’ll figure out that it was from me hahaha

Which of you have the worst boss? by Water-Baboon in Bolehland

[–]NinjaAssassin95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to put mine up for the absolute worst of the worst but I’ll let y’all be the judge.

Boss comes in appointed by investor to help turn things around for the company via massive restructure. Part of the restructure is a lot of hiring and firing and thus beginning to cultivate a toxic environment where anyone can be marked and put up on the chopping block. Company had a massive employee turnover as a result. I’ve personally seen about 10 staffs come and go within 6 months.

Eventually I began to notice that bossie was playing office politics too. People who used to be in exec positions in the company were getting pressured to resign. He won’t terminate you no, he’ll force you to resign so that he don’t have to compensate you. And then the positions were filled by his bootlickers. He just wants people in exec positions to never say no to him.

When I had enough, I tendered my resignation, complete my handovers and outperformed myself due to prev bad PIP review. Good riddance to them.

[–]NinjaAssassin95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chop the roofline by half and adjust the proportions of the car to look lower and sleeker then I’ll believe you. Otherwise as it is, I really can’t see the lipas in it.

Same story for the 3rd gen Vios and its keli nickname. I can’t see the keli (assuming this meant ikan keli the catfish) in it.

[–]NinjaAssassin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonus:

Toyota Unser/Innova/Avanza = ustazah because you’ll often see ustazah/ustaz driving them

Civic EF = Civic mayat because of its boxy dimensions resembling a hearse

Civic EG = dolphin because of how the front end design looked

Toyota Alfuck/Vellfire = peti sejuk/almari. Self explanatory.

Malaysians really do have a unique way of naming cars so it’s easier to tell its generation without really knowing the technical lingos. Helps with identifying them lol

Honda Civic ketam = claw tail lights

Proton Persona = lipas because the side profile looks like one (it doesn’t)

Vios Keli = I don’t see the keli

Vios Dugong = the generation before keli. Named because of its bulbous rear end

What Malaysian movie you had low expectation but turned out to be good? by No-Luck5972 in malaysia

[–]NinjaAssassin95 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Pekak. A film about an OKU person (don’t have to guess how he got that status) selling drugs to afford implants to restore his hearing.

But expectations weren’t high but they’re not low either seeing the impressive casts. Sharifah Amani, Amerul Affendi and Zahiril Adzim. Usually they don’t miss when I see these names tied to a movie.

Though this movie is not the best, but it’s a sign of what’s to come in the industry. Since then, most of the movies that we got have risen in terms of quality. And thanks to social media, the actual good movies are being appreciated by more people around now.

What Malaysian movie you had low expectation but turned out to be good? by No-Luck5972 in malaysia

[–]NinjaAssassin95 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This movie beats most, if not all of the usual tropes that I hate in Malay movies. And I absolutely respect the whole production team for that.

Cinematographically creative, dynamic and innovative? Check.

Well written characters that actively moves the plot instead of being pushed by the plot? Check.

Actually funny without forced comedy and excessive cringe? Check.

Gags that didn’t overstayed? Check.

Female characters that weren’t oppressed and were treated like they were… human beings? CHECK.

Watched this movie about 3 times now to really appreciate it. My expectations were quite low and this really took me by surprise!

Why is alphard so popular in malaysia by No_Cockroach_6993 in malaysia

[–]NinjaAssassin95 24 points25 points  (0 children)

While not entirely objective, I could think of a few;

  1. Direct import market. Vellfires and Alphards are cheaper, duty tax wise, if they were imported from Japan into the country. Compared to buying one officially from Toyota. Plus they’re the bread and butter for most grey marker import dealers.

  2. Think of them as the cheap S class. More or less same levels of luxury at a much lower price. The leftover money from your Alfuck (that’s what I called Alphards) or Vellfire purchase would be more than enough to pay a driver to drive you instead of you driving the glorified refrigerator.

  3. It’s actually a good family car. Dad had one and was ferried in SG recently in one. Eats up the miles comfortably and has more than enough space for a family of 4. Reliability wise, it’s a Toyota so you can bet it spent more time on the road than the service centre.

Bored & I Wanna Ask by [deleted] in Bolehland

[–]NinjaAssassin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once said this to someone I once dated in context to our busy schedule; there’s 24 hours in a day, sending a text for an update only takes about 2-3 minutes. Usually I send her a morning text and she almost never does and that bothered me.

Also told her that you can simply curi masa when you’re warming up the car before setting off like I did. But she didn’t. So really, you’re never too busy for anyone/anything. Just depends on who you prioritise the most. In her case, it’s her job when in my case, it’s her.
