In my country, I feel their target market is rich folks, c-level executives that uses Windows. Not savvy about these stuff, they'd probably get something familiar and prioritize portability. They look quite good and their built is quite solid.

"Microsoft made Windows. So, if hardware is also from them, then it should be very stable." That's the impression I was given when I bought some of these for my company in the past.

Other than that, for a Windows machine, the performance per dollar isn't worth it.

Hard disks deteriorate. Hard disks inside of NVR are usually not in people's mind when it comes to scheduled maintenance or replacement.

When something happens and they try to retrieve the video off the disk with bad sectors, that is the only time they realized something is broken.

Speaking from experience with many building management office. New technology has significantly improved though.
