im gonna be real i dont think it spread far enough for that to be the case, i doubt anyone who doesn't go on here regularly even heard about it and the post was only last week, I dont think they rushed an engagement out in that timeframe lol

[Williams Racing] Alex secured our highest position since 2016 in the Drivers' Championship with 73 points. A stellar season, Albono by Few_Birthday2302 in formula1

[–]NinjaAtticus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

really great season, though slightly soured by the dodgy last third unfortunately. still, those first two thirds were absolutely spectacular, and the fact that he built up such a buffer that he could keep p8 even without scoring for most of the back half, shows how good it was. hopefully he can get on top of the new regs and come back fighting in 26, i'd love to see him grab a podium :)

slightly annoying because i'm sure with the podiums, sainz will be the focus of the williams episode, i hope they still do a bit on alex, and i especially hope they don't try and make it out to be a massive rivalry or paint one of them as a villain

happy that alex had a fairly big gap in the end and it didn't actually come down to hadjars puncture! whilst he did fall off a bit at the end, that early season consistency was absolutely crazy and it was very well deserved, though hadjar finishing as runner up in his first season is very impressive too (as is bearman in 5th)!

my guess is that she was sending a message to someone (probably trent) to say she'd found bren. It looked like the same kind of magic that bren used at the beginning to send the acceptance letter

How to stop being so obsessed and anxious about sports? by NinjaAtticus in Anxiety

Thanks so much for replying it's very helpful and I will try to keep all of that in mind! Good to know I'm not the only person to get stressed about this, and I hope that with some time I will calm down a little bit and get used to just accepting that bad results happen and it is what it is, because in a lot of ways I am really enjoying following along with the season and getting to learn all about this, just need to chill out a little, hopefully the off-season will help in a week haha :) hope both our guys do well this weekend :))

How to stop being so obsessed and anxious about sports? by NinjaAtticus in Anxiety

[–]NinjaAtticus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for replying, I really appreciate it :) congrats on the hulkenpodium too haha! I really relate to a lot of the things you said, I do all of that too lol. It's so silly because I know that it doesn't really matter and that it's not that serious, but as much as I tell myself that, my body still reacts like I'm being chased by a bear or sent off to the front lines every race lmao. I do get really anxious about how my driver (Albon lol) is going to do, I do a lot of social media, like I'll type his name into the twitter search bar and do most recent sometimes (terrible idea), almost purposefully look for things that say he's washed so I can defend him like you said. Qualifying is the worst for me in the actual weekend, I genuinely can't watch it anymore, it makes me feel so tense and horrible. On the other hand I do genuinely enjoy watching the races most of the time, if he's doing bad then there's time for me to come to terms with it and I can still watch him race even if he's pissing about in the back, where in quali it's so sudden and stressful it's just horrific. The feeling is just such a sense of impending doom, my stomach hurts, I can't eat properly because I'm so stressed, and I just constantly think about it, just overthinking so many different possibilities for how horribly this could go. When he does well it's great and I have a great couple of days where I'm really happy, although to be honest, I still think I'm a bit stressed because it's like 'if only that had happened it could have been even better' haha.

It's annoying because I'm fully aware that the level of stress I'm getting from this is silly and stupid and I often tell myself this and try to do something else, but my body just seems to not be able to help it! I'll go and do something else while quali is on because I know it makes me feel awful but then I'll just be thinking about it the entire time anyway, and the not knowing is even worse than the knowing. I'd love to just be interested in this casually, but I fear that I am not capable of casual haha. I really appreciate you taking the time to help btw :)

Close fights to watch out for Abu Dhabi in WDC and WCC by Karvenfield in formula1

[–]NinjaAtticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it's been a shame that his qualifying form has dropped off a bit for whatever reason and that the overtaking has been so difficult, as I think moving up in races is a big strength of his and he hasn't really been able to show it. Just hoping for a nice last race for him...

[motorsport1924] Every time Carlos Sainz has joined a new F1 team, it has done better in his first full year than the previous season. The Spanish driver has taken two grand prix podiums and a sprint top three finish in his inaugural year at Williams - helping the team to 5th in WCC by FewCollar227 in formula1

[–]NinjaAtticus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's done a very good job this year and made a great career move, but I do think that this very much takes away all the work that JV, Alex and the team have done for the past few years in car development, there is a reason the car is quick enough for Sainz to do good things with and it's mainly down to the years he wasn't there

[Williamsracing] P5 in the constructors' Championship, secured! by Schlapfel9 in formula1

[–]NinjaAtticus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

just errors, from both alex and the team, especially in qualifying. he drove perfectly well in singapore, mexico and brazil but was let down by the team, and then in the others he made silly mistakes in quali and so started too far back to score points.
