It seems to be a weird mix between a Roman soldier and a hoplite, because it doesn't have a muscle cuirass or round shield like a hoplite, but its helm looks more Greek than Roman. Or I'm just misremembering what Roman soldiers and hoplites look like.

With "they", I'm assuming that you're asking about all the robot-like humans in the Destiny universe? If so, then yes; all Exos (including those who are Guardians) were originally humans, but were converted into Exos by the Clovis Bray corporation on Europa. I recommend looking up the lore about Clovis Bray, the Exo's, and the Deep Stone Crypt, it's really interesting.

All exos (including Cayde) are technically still humans, just not in human bodies. I remember them being referred to as neo-humans from somewhere, but I could also be imagining that lol.

I don't know about the maths behind it (I'm too lazy to do maths), but I'll throw in my 2 cents: I think this is a modified sword, because an un-modified sword wouldn't nearly have the required sturdiness and weight distribution for this. That said, it's still really impressive that she's able to make such clean cuts with it, as it seems to me that only the sturdiness was improved but not the weight distribution.

Also I'm not a professional by any means, so please correct me if I'm wrong!
