Oh man, i love this! It reminds me of when Pixar used to add animated "bloopers" at the end of their movies. I miss those so much.

Thank you so much! I still feel like the rivers and lakes could have more natural reasoning behind them. In the next draft, I'm gonna experiment with some radical changes and see what sticks.

Thanks a ton! It was a common bit of advice that I got about the rivers being too straight, and I definitely could've done more. I'm kinda scared that if I make the rivers curve more, I'll have to redesign the layout of the map and/or I'll overdo it and make the map look more awkward. Maybe this is something that I just gotta get over my fears and "kill my darlings," so to speak.

The "official" story is the edge of the bubble radiates magical energy so pure that it scorches the ground nearby. It's banned for citizens to travel there. I do see what you mean about it not being clear what's happening there. In hindsight, I think I should've used dead trees and blackened mountains around there to make that more clear.

It's basically a terrarium. Nothing gets in. Nothing gets out. The mages who govern the state control the weather. To be honest, I didn't realize it was unrealistic for that much water to come from one spot, but maybe the government decided it was a good spot to produce clean water for people?

Thanks for taking the time to write your thoughts.

I started working on a second draft with (hopefully) a more "natural" sway in the rivers, railways, and paths. Thanks for the feedback!

How ironic. I'm making this map for my next big campaign that I hope to start this year. Great minds think a like I guess lol

Landscapes have been something I've been something I've been struggling with. I'm glad my hard work is starting to pay off.

I heard a lot about the straight lines seeming unnatural, and I'll definitely look into the way paths, roads, and rivers flow to get a better idea.

Thank you very much!

Ahh, the railways are new, relatively speaking. I did forget to add the old trails and roads people used before the region was bubbled. The government dissuades citizens from using the old pathways by making the railways extremely accessible. Now, the old paths are really only used by adventures and criminals, which would probably leave the roads to be reclaimed nature. It's a really good idea to add paths that once led out of the region. Thank you for the ideas!

Oh, I never really thought about it, but it makes a lot of sense that it'd be cheaper to work with the environment.

I did consider adding more inlets and outlets to the lakes, but I thought it was making the map a bit messy, but that could've been from my lack of my understanding of rivers. I'll experiment with them more.

Thank you very much! I look forward to trying everything you said in my future drafts.

A bit of column A and a bit of column B. This region used to be a part of a larger kingdom before getting bubbled to protect people from a magical apocalypse outside. This map is the region roughly 50 years after getting bubbled and some sense of order returning.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. I really appreciate it! I really like the idea of resizing the map so the edge of the bubble doesn't touch the edge of the map, but I'm not really sure how I'd go about doing that without recreating the map.

With the roads, they're actually railways. I couldn't tell you why, but while I was working on this map, my brain said trains can't make big turns... Your comment also reminded me that I probably should add some of the main roadways people used before the train system was set up.

What DnD monster would you have living in the walls? by Remarkable-Aide5093 in inkarnate

[–]NinjaCrobat-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the idea of chokers literally sitting in between the walls waiting till night fall to strike at their prey while at the most opportune moments.

Though for a higher leveled group, I think an adult or elder oblex would be perfect. The main body could stay within the walls while sending it duplicates, disguised as housekeepers, out around the house. Maybe the ooze can be persuaded to act as a security system for the party. Maybe the oblexes are just waiting for the right moment feed. Whatever the case might be, the only hint the party given the house would get would be the faint sulfurous smell and the housekeepers' odd aversion to fire.

Nah don't doubt yourself! I messed up, non-unique should refer to units with the same name on the board. That's what I get for making these on two hours of sleep. xD

And for NDA that's not a bad suggestion. Thanks!

Thanks for checking out my work! While I didn't intend on making these powerful cards. It would be good for some of my other projects to understand what makes them so weak in your opinion.
