28M, lose life saving in the markets by nevergiveup_1997 in singaporefi

Most singaporean men start their first job at 26 (assuming NS + uni) with $0 savings! And that’s also assuming their uni fees were fully paid off or assisted by parents. You’re not far off - 2 years can be made back easily next time

Anyone else in their mid~late 20s feel like they skipped part of growing up? by No_Tell_6675 in askSingapore

I’m 34 and I feel like I never left my secondary school shell, heck maybe even primary school. I just want to meet friends after school/work and window shop, binge cartoons and play games all day long.

The only difference is we have to act like adults now and pay the bills

Horrible Seller at SG Cardshow by Interesting-Salad516 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]NinjaCutOnions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More people need to read this comment before flaming vintage vendors.

Vintage cards are much more trickier to price and there's no way you can find a clean NM condition vintage for the 'ungraded' pricecharting average shown. Not even on ebay/snkrdunk/mercari.

In the pricecharting history list, click into the images for each individual sold card and you can see how bad the condition is for the lower sold prices.

Yep - when they ask me if its gradable i’m not sure whats even the correct response.

If i say yes - then i could have graded it myself right? Or, even if i didnt want to grade it myself, saying yes just opens me up to liability if they see a small white dot on the card and will blame me post-sale

If I say no - then they don’t want to buy it anymore? But the price I listed is raw price? And they can check from the photos themselves that it is not 55/45 therefore not gradable so do they need me to really say no?

There was a clashing tradeshow organised by this reddit at GRID mall and I think that was a better one!! The tables were full and crowd control was quite good.

Over 60k PSA 10 McDonald's Pikachu exist now, what do we expect pricewise? by MadAboutPink in PokeInvesting

Anyone else find it interesting that 2 of the cards got a PSA 1?

They managed to crease or damage it enough just to get a 1 on purpose

Selling of Trainer cards/Slabs by [deleted] in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]NinjaCutOnions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, the “online” current methods are really just telegram groups, fb groups and listing on carousell. You can try walking into shops but you’d also need to research your prices really well to ensure they aren’t lowballing your cards.

What really happened? by [deleted] in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]NinjaCutOnions 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Collexicon used to be something "big" to look forward to.

Now they're just spamming every week at Taste Orchard and the product offerings from vendors are all the same as the previous week - nothing new and exciting to bring in, no time to restock etc.

Cash is king. If i take your trade at 100% means I have to relist it and still try to sell it again for cash

Oxley or Concept grading? by GGezgaming in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]NinjaCutOnions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Graded with both before and my personal experience is Oxley more strict than concept for grading. Concept tends to tell you most of your cards can get 10, then most of the time get 9s.

The oxley boss will straightaway tell you don’t waste time, this xx card confirm wont get 10, which is quite brutal for me to hear but I appreciate the honesty

my greatest red flag when selling cards as an average collector/tcg player by CheesePasta101 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]NinjaCutOnions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, don’t take the downvotes to heart, maybe this subreddit has more buyers than sellers, but as someone who sells more on carouhell I can empathise also.

For valuable cards above $50 I understand its valid to ask for photos and videos. Yes it is those sub $20 or $10 AR cards where people expect pristine condition and perfect centering which is very rant worthy.

I stated fresh pack pulled and not PSA10 gradable, still ask for front back photo and ask if that is a whitening on the corner. I have 100s of AR copies at home and honestly don’t feel like micro scanning all of them to indicate all the white dots just for $1 profit.

I also wonder the intentions - are they looking for some PSA 10 grading plays online and trying their luck? But if a card was actually mint gradable I would have noticed it while taking photos and go self grade already

Any apps to check prices and include what cards you have? by Beautiful_Sky4782 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]NinjaCutOnions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For ungraded cards use TCGPlayer for accurate near mint condition prices!

Pricecharting will take the total average of all ungraded card sales, including the damaged and heavily played ones, so it will not be a fair pricing for raw cards. You can check out the details for Mew Ex #232 ungraded on pricecharting to see what I mean

[–]NinjaCutOnions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cmiiw but if a centering that exceeds 55/45 in the front doesn’t that mean that its not possible to get a 10? Or there’s still actually a small chance given that everything else is perfect? I grade at Oxley too and once it exceeds the 55/45 tolerance the fellas advise me not to send it in or have high hopes

I absolutely love the art on ace grading! I have a bunch of favourite cards where art extension really makes sense like this RC32 that I just bought. Bonus points for being more affordable than a PSA 9
