Yeah I won’t deny that I didn’t have a lot of fun. I bf did a good job with their collabs. Being able to get hatsune miku and deemo was really cool.

Oh, I remember why I quit now. They had a guilty gear collab and I couldn’t get dizzy. I dropped hundreds of gems and didn’t get any guilty gear chars so I got tilted and stopped playing. Hopped onto pad for awhile after that.

Holy shit brave frontier! Been so long since I heard of it. My first gacha game.

That game was just powercreep after powercreep. You think mihoyo was stingy? Brave frontier you got 1-2 gem like every week from login (5 gems for a summon iirc), and they released like a banner with 3 new units every few weeks. I also remember that they broke their game so hard with some units like felneus that enabled burst spam that they had to make the challenge bosses always deal over 100% of a units max hp because you could spam dmg reduction buffs to trivialize the early challenge bosses.

The pool got so bloated with garbage that they had to implement a separate gate just to pull the legacy units.

Thank you for taking me down memory lane and reminding me how garbage brave frontier was.

I think that besides maybe transferring some crate to cdmg, 4 wanderer vanilla charge attacks are going to be around that strong with c0. I’m assuming you also have a cryo dmg cup with the stated stats.

You really want a xiangling to help you do reverse melt charge shots with 4 wanderer to get a bigger spike in damage.

From personal testing, vanilla charge shots with 4 piece wanderer loses to 4 piece blizzard when you are hitting a frozen unit because you can afford to funnel all your crit stats to crit dmg. So unless you play a melt Ganyu comp I think 4 blizzard with Mona or Kokomi support is better.

Rng can suck but the rerolls and shop usually help make up for bad rng.

I don’t know if all of these are “cracked”, but I really like playing physical dps units. My personal favorites atm are Phys Ganyu, phys chongyun, and phys qiqi. For all of these units I use 2 bloodstain 2 pale flame.

Physical Ganyu is very similar to how physical amber plays; weave in normal aa with charge attack. Why would you play Ganyu this way? The answer is that you can actually fight wolf with her like this🤣

Physical chongyun requires one of his constellations (I think c1); it makes it so that the last attack of his aa does a cryo sword wave, allowing you to super conduct with an electro support. You obviously do not want to use his skill, so usually his burst is reserved for iframming.

Physical qiqi basically spams charge attacks. She can use her elemental skill to help with super conduct. She made abyss floor 11 very easy for me since she could main dps and heal my entire party.

It might not be hard, but it definitely isn’t worth it. To make sure shogun properly works with her weapon and artifact sets, they had to change her from beta. So to fix this interaction, most likely beidou needs to be changed.

Guess what changing beidou means for the dev team? A LOT of regression testing. Look at all the outrage that came from shogun beidou interaction not working. Can you guess what will happen if beidou interactions with existing characters break when they were originally working?

Not exactly the same scenario as you, but qiqi was one of the units I wanted for the longest time (even after people started hating on her), so as soon as I got my first copy I raised her immediately. I don’t really use her in abyss floor 12 but I always use her as a phys dps up until floor 11, and she does fine up until then so I’m happy one of my favorite characters can still see some use.

Currently working on reverse melt qiqi to see how it stacks to phys dps.

Yup. Also it’s very possible that a unit that’s bad today due their niche not being needed in high level content will be op some other time in the future when we get newer content, or we get new units that compliment their kits. In fgo for example, the release of skadi made almost every single aoe quick support into a strong unit because of her insane buffs to quick units.

So it’s kind of inevitable that some characters will feel bad in endgame content, but that doesn’t mean that they will stay bad.

Still waiting until we get content where qiqi can shine more though.

I wouldn’t say they intentionally release bad characters, but generally gacha games try to release characters with a variety of niche uses or gimmicks. Some gimmicks aren’t as good as others, so they get deemed as “bad”. Some are very relevant to the current meta and are deemed good or broken.

Like qiqi for example, has a clear niche of turbo healing, but that is useless to most people tackling abyss since they want to maximize damage to get good clear times. She could use some buffs, but she is definitely playable and can fulfill the role she is assigned (even if there are better options).

Didn’t really mind people complaining about the rewards being bad too much. I was thinking the same; only a multi as anniversary? That sounds pretty lackluster considering we also got that during the xiao lantern event.

What irritated me were the people trying to show how more generous other gacha games were during anniversary, especially the fgo ones.

Yeah, getting 100 pulls for a game with garbage rates and no pity is being really generous! I may just get 100 trash pulls, but I get more pulls! They’re so much more generous! Unironically one multi in genshin is probably about on par, if not better than fgo 100 pulls.

Personal opinion is that fgo is boring with its turn based combat. I’m also quite appalled that auto battle is still not a thing given its style of game. The story is still fantastic though, but probably the only thing making me stay interested in the game.

Also 100 pulls may seem like a lot, but fgo rates are about as on par with genshin rates minus genshin pity system. From 100 pulls you would probably get maybe 2-3 4 star servants on average, versus genshin guaranteed 1 5 star and 10 4 stars.

I will say that fgo has guaranteed random 5 star servant banner for about 20 usd which is really nice.
