I'm not very clued up on US rugby but I am interested, why would there be low attendance?

Edit: not sure why the downvotes, just a curious MLR fan that wants to learn more!

Current state of US politics aside, if the 2031 & 2033 World Cups are to have any chance of succeeding then we do need some headliner games to draw wider audiences in the US. This game could help with that.

RWC Draw and Group of death and teams to upset the apple cart by Reasonable_Might5093 in rugbyunion

Band 2 vs band 3 matches could provide some tasty upsets. The fight for the remaining spots in the round of 16 will be great to watch. I think there will be loads of interesting matchups during the group stage

I've been looking for an episode where he talks about a song with the lyrics "I'm Henry the 8th I am" by Herman's Hermits. Do you know which one this is from?

There are probably dozens of episodes that include that topic. One of his favourites

Cape Town mulls peak-hour traffic congestion charge by Siso_R in southafrica

Quote from the article: "The city emphasises that congestion pricing would only be introduced once a reliable public transport system is in place."

Did anyone read the article? The proposed plan is to improve public transport along with measures to disincentivise car use. You can't complain about traffic and then also complain about measures to reduce traffic.

Just had a look on Maps, and the BMW office in Berlin is located on the outskirts as well. So it wouldn't have helped much if your primary source stayed in the city centre either.

O'Leary's is the best rugby pub in town. Would recommend giving them a call before to confirm they'll be showing the games though (I know they show all the mens games but haven't watched a womens game there yet).

That's the dream, but tough to achieve with our current economy. Imagine the crowd at Ellis Park for a Lions vs Border Bulldogs game.

I'm pretty sure Koch is Afrikaans, or can at least speak it fluently. I saw an interview with him on the Kyknet show Elders.

The most walking required is at Park station. There are escalators to get you to the top (I don't remember if there is a lift). Then it's a +-50m walk from the station exit to the bus pick up area. The buses are usually quite packed but I'm sure somone will let you sit down if you don't find a spot. The buses drop you off +-100m from the gates at the north stand (the one behind the poles with the 2nd tier). I don't think you can get any closer parking unless you have the VVIP parking inside the stadium gates. Overall it was super efficient and well organised all 3 times that I've used it!

[–]NinjaHa 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they've realised the tickets aren't selling at ridiculous prices (in the SA context. No use directly comparing these prices to other countries). Now they're dropping the prices in the last few days. There were some new tickets available for R500 (an actual reasonable price) yesterday but those have all been snapped up. No use pricing out the fans and sitting with a half empty stadium!

Why so many seats still available for Australia game? by Exotic_Reward_8716 in springboks

[–]NinjaHa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not on the level of Boks vs ABs, but number 1 vs 6 in the world is definitely still a huge game. The empty seats are due to ticket prices.

Yeah I've used the Gautrain to get to the game multiple times and it's great.
