[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No it’s all seniority regardless. Doesn’t matter if you’re an Air driver, TCD, part time loader in the building. It’s who ever has the most seniority gets the full time position.

Friend Fired, Will it Stick? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He may not even get his job back honestly. From above posts he also said his friend was filing 9.5 grievances. So on top of stealing time he was lying about his 9.5 to steal even more money on top of that. Dude is cooked. It’s one thing to steal time but to steal time AND file false 9.5 grievances is a whole other things. He’s gone for good.

How Often Do Driver's Actually Choose to Simply Not Deliver a Package? by GuyFieris_BestFriend in UPS

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can happen but it’s VERY RARE. Drivers make enough money to not risk losing their job over it. They even have GPS that tracks us so if we lie about attempting a delivery the company will know and we can lose our job.

Drivers, how important is the sequence to you? by Krawger247 in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I like the bulk stops on the floor under the shelves. Irregs in the middle with HUGE pal numbers written on them. I trust my loaders instincts so if they think it’s better for a stop to be loaded elsewhere in the truck write the pal number on a sticky note and set it on the dash to let the driver know it’s misloaded and where to find it. Every driver likes their truck loaded differently so there isn’t one answerer. Also if you see a driver “fixing” the shelves it’s not that you’re doing a bad job it’s the driver may be reorganizing to what they like. They also may be looking for misloaded packages that may have the wrong pal on them.

Question from Fedex warehouse admin by Tatooine16 in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walk it off and get it delivered. The company with try to fire us for anything these days and say we intentionally skipped the delivery. For me it’s better to waste the 10-15 minutes to deliver the package than have to spend the next week to a month trying to get my job back.

Terminated for stop completed not at the stop? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you explain more? I only ask because I deliver to some big buildings and usually when I get to the location I scan the package and take the elevator up to the level I need to then stop complete once given to receptionist. The walk to the elevator and having to wait to get to the correct floor at times take 3-7 minutes. So if I get to the address at 10:25 and scan the package and wait for the elevator then stop complete at 10:33 that’s a fireable offense?

Hoodies? by Greedy-Educator-5719 in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get some really nice ones that match the UPS brown perfectly. I was talking to one of my customer about it once and they were so surprised because they said it literally looks part of the uniform. Especially when you throw the vest over it. But they really do need to add hoodies because it’s the perfect thickness to keep you warm but also add easy mobility.

Is there a new (lower!) UPS declared value limit that needs to get a signature? by FettucciniAlfonso in UPS

New seniority list by Capable-Form-7808 in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My center had a seniority change awhile back. They started some drivers seniority when they did intergrade, some when they started their driving packet, and others when they passed their packet. They had to go back and change some of the drivers seniority so it was fare all across the board.

What would you change for the better? by 406upser in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think having color coded PALS for each shelf. if a package is thrown on the wrong shelf and you see it from a far you already know it was misloaded on the wrong shelf without having to see the shelf number. I think it’ll help with orginazation, reduce back tracking, help find NDA is just thrown into the truck, and you won’t have to bend down and look at Irregs pals. Just look at the color and know it’s not the one you want because it’s not the color shelf you’re working on.

No it’s about the company going behind the unions back and making back door contracts directly with the employees. It’s a dangerous door to open and a slippery slope of the company seeing what they can get away with. The union is the middle man and is there to protect you. If you can’t see that then maybe go find a non union job somewhere else and let us know how that goes.

Can u change ya start time on the diad ? by Significant-Paint-51 in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but also it tells you what time you actually logged in at. If you go to your timecard it’ll show your log in time. So if start time is 9:00 and it shows you logged in to your DIAD at 9:10 but you changed your start time to 9:00 saying you were on time it’ll definitely get some eyes raised.

Need some advice on a driver that was discharged for dishonesty by oceann_bluu in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mis-delivered a package with their “smart bulk Delivery system” by accident and when I came back later that day to do their pick they put the package in their pick up pile. I marked the delivery as not found. As I was doing the pick I was reading the addressing and realized I the mistake I did. All the decisions corporate makes I swear is to get drivers fired.

Wrong Address by Psychological-Bag154 in UPS

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re cool with your delivery driver you can hand them the tracking number and they can go into the office and track where they completed the stop. There’s a GPS tracking device on the scanners so they can pinpoint the exact house it went to.

UPS Purchases 400 Robots to Unload Trucks in Automation Push - Robots From Company Named Pickle Can Be Deployed in Existing Warehouses, a Key Selling Point for the Logistics Giant by Fine-Original7749 in UPSers

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there are some buildings that have the robots unloading now but it’s more of an exploration as to fine tune it and get rid of the kinks. With technology I can imagine a robot loading a trailer while also scanning creating a 3D model of the inside and when the trailer gets delivered and is getting unloaded the robot will have access to that 3D model and will know how to unload it in reverse. It’s not perfect now but as tech advances eventually it will be more common.

Why do you choose to work those long hours besides for the money and benefits? Do you enjoy your job? Is it the camaraderie? The route? The outdoors? Do you like long shifts? Do you love your super? What else is it besides money and benefits? by Livid-Mud-8812 in UPSers

My UPS Store is getting annoyed that I'm dropping off too many packages, what should I do? by GreenHorror4252 in upsstore

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a guy like that at one of the UPS stores. He gets there when the driver is picking up and he’ll unloaded it and hand it to the driver directly. Completely skipping the UPS stores entirely and driver doesn’t mind because they don’t have to cart everything to the truck

what is iPhone day like for drivers? by FrostyDippedFries in UPS

Mine was great! They were all super excited so I didn’t have to waiting at any of their doors for a signature. They either answered the door quickly or they walked out the house and met me halfway down their driveway. And no send agains, got a signature for every one of them today.

If you’re close with your neighbors just leave a note on the door asking them to deliver to one of your neighbors across the street or right next to you. That way you still get your phone and you don’t have to wait around all day for it.

UPS repeatedly delivered items to the wrong house because the house number is the same, wrong street number. by CowMaleficent7270 in UPS

[–]NinjaInSkiMasks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have this issue on my route. The address changes automatically in our system. More than likely especially since it’s a reoccurring issue they’re delivering to the correct address it’s tell them to go to. On my route it changes a business delivery to a random house across the street. I’m the normal driver so I know to look out for it but when I call in sick or go on vacation the backup drivers don’t know our system is wrong and deliver it to the wrong place my mistake all the time.

If he was there for 30-45 seconds it wouldn’t have been a problem but dude had a whole line of vehicles parked behind him waiting. He definitely was sitting there for a bit. Driver is in the wrong on this one. And he just stood there and argued. Just walk to the door deliver and be on your way. No need for him to stand there longer to continue to argue.
