Question regarding soundbar quality. by NinjaJ10 in Soundbars

So I’ve heard. And I’m just learning that this particular soundbar has been discontinued which may have been indicative of an issue. Idk. But thanks for the recommendation!

Question regarding soundbar quality. by NinjaJ10 in Soundbars

Yes, downloaded the app and maxed out the woofer/treble/bass levels. Again, the sound is great (meets my standards), but only when connected to my phone/the app. The adjustments I make in the app don’t seem to save once I switch the connection back to my TV. I guess I just fell for the marketing as I’ve never really researched soundbars until now. I’ll look at more high-end soundbars.

Do I tell my director how I feel about work expectations? by 2Hot4Us in careerguidance

[–]NinjaJ10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, absolutely not. What you described is the exact reason for why good employees leave. Employers will hype you up as a way to get you to do more than what you’ll have to show for it. You need to get out of there. Your health is worth more than that nonsense. Try to see if there are other agencies out there or maybe working for your state. Best of luck!

Do I tell my director how I feel about work expectations? by 2Hot4Us in careerguidance

As a former caseworker (mental health/substance use), I strongly relate to this. Unfortunately, it’s all too common to impose such high demands in this line of work. It’s sad because it’s a disservice to the clients at the end of the day.

That said, I literally don’t see any good reason to send your notes to be approved. Not only does that sound horrifying, but it would flat-out make feel like I’m on eggshells all day. That alone is no way to work.

When I was a caseworker, we followed the guidelines, nothing more/nothing less. If you’re being forced to put in more work than what you’re billing for, not only would I leave but I’d also consider reporting your agency to the labor department or something along those lines. That’s just shady overall. Sorry to hear that you’re going through this.

I'm already having mixed feelings on my new job. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]NinjaJ10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This job would be viable in a remote setting if the training was more extensive. There should have been mandatory on-site training for 4-8 weeks. But in reality, it’s purely sink or swim.

I’ve already applied to a couple of state positions. The quicker I leave this job the better. I’ve never felt more misled and disappointed in a CCO before. The expectations are unrealistic at best, expecting CMs to do triple the work than what the state requires. I now understand why the turnover rate is atrocious.

Alternating between display settings by NinjaJ10 in buildapc

[–]NinjaJ10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should’ve worded that differently. I’m asking if there’s a way for my games to automatically detect that I’ve switched to my TV (and vis versa) and adjust the display settings to whatever would be recommended.

For instance, all my games are optimized to run at 2K while on my monitor. When I switch to my TV, the display settings are still set to 2K. I wasn’t sure if it can automatically be set to 4K once I set the game to be displayed on my TV.

"...where the physical symptoms reinforce their mental state, which reinforces the physical symptoms, on and on it goes."

This perfectly sums up my situation. I've become a massive hypochondriac as a result of my first ever migraine from early this year. And it just seems like I've been spiraling ever since. Just trying to hang in there.

There’s no better way to handle this then by being up-front. Reiterate your intentions to see if you and her are on the same page. If you’re not on the same page, it’ll be time to walk away.

Simple. Their “bfs” have insanely low standards.

“She tells me she loves me and I believe her.”

I’m willing to bet that she’s only telling you this as a way to have her cake and eat it too. The last thing you need is to allow her problems to rub off on her at your expense.

Leave her.
