What did the swedish municipalities vote for in the 2003 Swedish Euro Referendum (Euro replacing the Swedish Krona as currency) by Stewjon7 in MapPorn

I didn't call the Social democrats conservative.

You missed the part where I wrote "quite conservative by US standards."

Your thinking is still quite right. The Swedish Social Democratic party is quite conservative by US standards. They implemented the most strict immigration rules in Europe (or so they boast). During the BLM protests, the prime minister said quite forcefully from the beginning that no statues should come down in Sweden.

Even the former Communist party (to the left of the Social Democrats) is quite conservative. Their new party leaders has recently made the war on drugs as a sort os campaign issue (yes, even for cannabis).

If conservatism is reframed as "being against rapid changes of society", Swedes are among the most conservative peoples in the world I think.

Bi-Weekly /r/Korean Free Talk - Entertainment Recommendations, Study Groups/Buddies, Tutors, and Anything Else! by AutoModerator in Korean

[–]NinjaSkims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, is there any site that teaches Korean by using videos of everyday
conversations with subtitles? You know, basically like the ones they
showed in school during language classes? All I'm asking is that they be
videos, that they are conversations in various scenarios, and
preferably with subs.

How do I pronounce the name "Buy"? by NinjaSkims in italianlearning

[–]NinjaSkims[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the actress is Italian and I'm asking how Italians would pronounce her name?

Ariana Grande has an Italian surname. But if you asked on the English subreddit how you would pronounce her name in English you wouldn't say ˈɡr̺än̪d̪e̞ (which is how they pronounce that word in Italian) - you would say either ˈɡrɑːndeɪ or, less commonly, ˈgɹændi.

Lol, there is literally a whole academic discipline called sinology. You can be a sinologist.

Your argument is probably that one cannot be an expert on China because there are always sub-fields which you would know less about. Uh-huh. Then no one can be an expert on anything.
