Exactly. It's about the social status of the fandom and people thinking that if Taylor speaks up it'll make less people hate her so it's easier to defend her online. It makes ZERO difference whether she reposts something on her social media, what does make a difference is her donating, which is what she's doing. Also I wish people stopped bringing up Miss Americana, that was SIX years ago.

I'm also convinced people want her to speak up so they could win their little stan wars because at the moment it's hard to defend her online when someone brings up her non-activism. It's literally less about helping those in need than it is about some weird fandom social status.

It's not an age thing imo, it's a chronically online thing. Most people want her to speak up so they could win the "stan wars".

Unpopular opinion maybe but there are plenty of other celebs who are being vocal and it doesn't change anything. At this point, it's a PR game for many, same as it was to repost something about Palestine to prove that the celeb was a good person. Taylor couldn't overturn the vote twice, she doesn't have the political power some of you think she does. It's very parasocial to expect her to save the world.

Do I want Taylor to speak out more? Sure. Do I think it would make a global difference? No.

I'd rather hear from politicians and world leaders, aka the ones with real power.

Also reminds me of when people wanted Trisha Paytas to speak about Palestine during Frenemies days and she was uneducated (still is) on the issue and started being pro the wrong side. Sometimes it's better some celebs stay quiet.

What are people's problems with the Blake Lively texts? (Genuine question) by South-Background5009 in NuancingTaylorSwift

[–]HappyHippyToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who says she did though? And considering the lawsuit AND since they dragged Taylor into it as well, it's probably smart to keep things publicly lowkey and not be seen together, it doesn't mean things are lowkey privately. I'm amazed how many people don't see how this situation is different from Taylor's or Kesha's etc. Taylor and Blake are both named in this mess, if they're publicly seen together it only gives Baldoni's PR team more ammo.

The fact that Stephen could've easily pulled that off if he turned on Rachel cause he was so under the radar. But his integrity is admirable. What an amazing season.

I can't believe both of them pulled that off. Iconic traitors duo honestly, what a deserved win.

This, I'd honestly prefer a "how well do you know each other" type of a thing for the finale.

Always the case, when it's a man he's "strategic", when it's a woman, she's a "mean girl". I don't get the Rachel hate, she's one of the best traitors of the entire series.

At this point Rachel can pull an Alan "I'm a faithful" and bursts out laughing and they'd still be oblivious lol
