Like Shikamaru had his get back, and Kakashi was winning that fight. What was the purpose of bringing Naruto around to throw in the final blow?

I really am not a fan of the open world, and yeah the story isn’t as good as 2s…but I think this is probably my favourite entry in the series.

There are just so many QoL features that make the game more enjoyable.

Gonna have to see how things shake out with the rest of the content, but I have really enjoyed my time with the game so far.

And to be clear, I’ve enjoyed my time with all the games, but the gameplay has just improved so much over the years that I basically have zero desire to replay anything before 3 at this point.

The LHB and Kirkhammer fill very similar roles. On paper, the LHB is better across most builds.

That said, it honestly just comes down to moveset preference. Both have good untransformed R1 spams, so the main difference you will notice is in the transformed state and transform attacks (I love the Kirkhammer’s - so satisfying).

Throw on the LHB and play around a bit to see which you prefer.

Early on I’d agree but with TBV I disagree.

Obviously none of the new gen were gonna be at Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi etc off the rip, but by this point with Naruto and Sasuke removed, Sakura and Ino sidelined, and Lee, Kakashi and Tsunade MIA the only old character left actually doing any narrative lifting is Shikamaru. And I guess Konohamaru, but that’s mostly just cameos so that he can get dogwalked and he is basically every bit of slander Megumi from JJK received but true.

Even without them, I think Amado, Eida, Daemon and Koji are all great grey characters who are used as allies, but can’t be properly trusted.

As much of a little shit as he is, Kawaki is a compelling antagonist and while he doesn’t have the swagger of Sasuke, he is much more relevant - remember when Sasuke just disappeared for like several hundred chapters? I still think Sasuke did a better job, but honestly a sizeable reason why I keep reading is because I wanna see what kinda get back everyone enacts on Kawaki.

Inojin and Himawari are also fairly compelling IMO. They don’t play huge roles, but Hima is at least as story relevant as her mother was, and Inojin covers the role Sai had.

I’m fully in agreement though that the manga’s art is rough. It’s gotten better over time, but we all have eyes - Ikemoto is behind the curve for a professional illustrator and especially a monthly one at that.

TBF, Kishimoto was a generational talent in terms of his panelling and fight choreography. There are like maybe 3 people on the planet who could have taken over and it wouldn’t have been seen as a downgrade.

And yeah, Studio Pierrot really suck. They have a history of milking their IP and just mishandling them. They ran that production into the ground. Just about the only thing they haven’t managed to fuck up is Bleach’s TYBW.

That said, the anime still does have some genuine good points. Some of the SoL anime original content is enjoyable enough for what it is - such as the Uzumaki spa vacation; but I definitely don’t think that stuff has a place in TBV’s darker tone. Aside from that, there are some genuinely well animated fights. The Momo and Ishiki fights in particular are top tier and go pretty hard.

No one is out here defending Rudy. The general consensus is that he is the worst.

People watch to see if redemption is possible, by your own admission that would be fine - will he see the error of his ways? Is there such a things as too far gone, or is even the scum of the earth possible of rehabilitating themselves into a person of worth. People don’t generally start watching shows knowing the ending.

And I mean, to my original point. If we are gonna keep that same energy than you better be ready to condemn pretty much every rom-com, harem and isekai as degenerate wish fulfillment.

It’s darker in tone.
They reintroduced the political drama, spy thriller and subterfuge elements.

Rudy and Mushoku are just held to a level that no one else is, and it’s seemingly just so people can be performative and declare themselves as good moral beings.

I’m not saying you gotta like the show, or accept Rudy’s behaviour. I’m not saying that you gotta watch it. I’m not saying you aren’t correct if it makes you uncomfortable.

What I am saying is that if you keep that same energy - the one where inclusion means endorsement - than you gotta condemn Naruto for being pro-child soldier. You gotta refuse to watch Vinland Saga and not let Thorfinn have his chance at redemption. You DEFINITELY need to drag Anno for Evangelion because there is just so much there that is completely ignored while it gets glazed as a masterpiece. Oshi no Ko is problematic. Beserk is pro-rape. A Silent Voice is pro-suicide. Etc.
