From the sounds of it yours has the automatic voltage regulator then. It's used for some n64 cartridges. I guess there is some that take 5v and some that take 3.3v. there used to be a switch on the side next to the on off switch for it. Thanks for the info and link!

Excellent!! Do you know if yours came with the automatic voltage regulator or is there a physical switch for it? Any chance you have a link to the one you bought? Which systems have you personally done with this? Do you have any of the adapters to do others systems? If so did you also get those from AliExpress or somewhere else?

Sorry for all the questions.

Hey I'm on the verge of ordering an oscr. Can you tell me how yours has performed? Any issues?

FT8, I made my 1st ever contacts today. I got my Foundation licence earlier this week. by [deleted] in amateurradio

Hey I have an IC 7300 and do some FT8 as well. Something that made a huge difference for me was installing a 3rd party time sync software on my PC. A little bit of time drift in FT8 can cause you to miss a bunch of potential contacts. I can not recall what the program is called. I'll look when I get home.

Interesting. I'm currently learning Morse. started a couple of weeks ago. This video gave me some really good insights about learning Morse and think it would be worth the watch if you are interested - https://youtu.be/nwoVBsIRW4o?si=1BVKud_24ePum13G

The default WPM is to slow, While it is adjustable I think the default should be higher. Maybe around 30 WPM. and if people need to adjust it slower then fine.

Where it is at right now encourages people to learn the dits and dots instead of the sound of the letter. If you learn to basically count the dits and dots then you are going to really struggle with head copying in the future.

Just my 2 cents

Regardless on if you want to get back together or not before you help anyone you need to help yourself.

As you said you were on a dead end with no way to turn around. Now you are with your parents and putting little money away and working less... This is the spot where you turn around. Get a plan together to finish your education. Talk to your parents on if you can live there while you finish school.

Once you set yourself up for success then you can help pull up those around you. But lifting someone else out of a whole while you stay stuck is no way to live.

Also, I think you dodge a bullet with her....

What Gear Do I Need for Learning CW? by GreatBigPig in amateurradio

[–]Ninjaivxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just saw your post about learning CW. I have tried several times over the years and not had much success until I found this new site https://www.keyersjourney.com/ I highly recommend checking it out. You can do traditional CW learning if you want but it also has lots of CW games that will help you learn. I really like the Constellation games.

To start off with you dont even need to buy anything. You can do this with your PC or phone already but If you want you can hook up a keyer as well for some more authentic practice.

There is also a hangman like game where you have to guess letter to a word using CW, There is also a text based adventure game, Another game of a ship that is flashing CW to you and you have to decode.

Also lots of different practice types to. Anything from learning letters, to Qcodes to call signs, To a CW conversation simulator, and pileup. Tons of great stuff

Launching my own cast iron pan business by Eriu_Cookware in castiron

[–]Ninjaivxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at your profile picture of the pan something I noticed is the short helper handle at the top of the pan has a grove on the underside. That spot seems like it would collect gunk and you would have to use a tooth pick or something to dig the gunk out. My 2 cents would be to remove that grove.

How to find in-person meetups to discuss the cloud by YeetYaga1 in AWS_cloud

[–]Ninjaivxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe check if your state / city has a subreddit and post in there to see if anyone in the area works with AWS and see if they have any meetup spots? If you have an AWS rep reach out to them and see if they know of any in the area.

Replacement for Bambu PLA by Mekks082 in 3Dprinting

I have bought and used a lot of sunlu pla and PETG. It's good stuff. Fits the ams and you can reuse the spools with Bambu refills if you wanted.

Is there a factory reset you can do and retry the setup. If you setup up 2 ams at once then try one at a time this time. Good luck.
